يتناول الكتاب أشعار الشعراء الستة الجاهليين، ويقدم ترجمات مفصلة لكل شاعر مع تحليل لقصائدهم المختارة. يركز الأعلم الشنتمري على امرؤ القيس وعلقمة الفحل وزهير بن أبي سلمى وطرفة بن الأبلج وعنترة بن شداد، مبيناً خلفياتهم الاجتماعية والثقافية وتأثيرها على شعرهم. كما يعرض آراء النقاد في شعرهم ويجري تحليلات بلاغية لأبيات محددة، معرجاً على خصائص كل شاعر وأساليبه الفنية.
Translation
The book deals with the poems of the six pre-Islamic poets, and provides detailed translations of each poet with an analysis of their selected poems. Al-Alam Al-Shantamari focuses on Imru' Al-Qays, Alqamah Al-Fahl, Zuhair bin Abi Salma, Tarfa bin Al-Ablaj, and Antara bin Shaddad, showing their social and cultural backgrounds and their influence on their poetry. It also presents critics' opinions on their poetry and conducts rhetorical analyzes of specific verses, focusing on the characteristics of each poet and his artistic styles.
