This book is a literary and rhetorical criticism of the poetry of Abu Al-Ala Al-Maarri, in which Al-Suyuti addresses Al-Maarri’s famous criticisms, known as Ma’aratha, and provides a response to them by tracing the names of dogs in language books and organizing them into poetic narratives.
