هذا الكتاب "العقد المفصل في قبيلة المجد" للحيدر الحلي يتناول دراسة أخلاقية أدبية لقبيلة المجد، مبيناً فيها نسبها وأصولها وخصالها الحميدة. يركز المؤلف على تناول سمات القبيلة من خلال فصول متعددة تناولت فضائل أفرادها في مجالات الأخلاق والذكاء والفصاحة، مع إدراج عينات من نثرهم ونظمه الشعرية. الكتاب مقسم إلى أجزاء تنظم حسب القافية، كل قسم يحتوي على فصول تناولت مواضيع مختلفة مثل المديح والرثاء والغزل والهجاء.
