هذا الكتاب "منتهى الطلب من أشعار العرب" هو مجموعة شعرية مرقمة آلياً تتضمن مائة قصيدة لكل جزء من عشرة أجزاء، وقد جمع فيها المؤلف ابن ميمون أربعمائة قصيدة من أشعار شعراء الجاهلية والإسلام، انتقى أجمل ما قالوه وأفصحه. يتناول الكتاب شعراء بارزين مثل كعب بن زهير وعمرو بن كلثوم وعنترة، ويضم قصائد من مختارات المفضليات والأصمعيات، بالإضافة إلى نقائض جرير والفرزدق وقصائد من كتاب "الشوارد" لابن دريد. وقد كتب ابن ميمون شرحًا لبعض الكلمات الغريبة في جوانب الأوراق، وجمع هذا الكتاب بعد أن أمضى ستين سنة في دراسة الشعر وحفظه ونسخ دواوينه.
Translation
This book, “Muntaha al-Talab min al-Arab Poetry,” is an automatically numbered poetry collection that includes one hundred poems for each of ten parts. In it, the author Ibn Maimon collected four hundred poems from the poems of pre-Islamic and Islamic poets. He selected the most beautiful and eloquent things they said. The book deals with prominent poets such as Ka'b bin Zuhair, Amr bin Kulthum and Antara, and includes poems from the selections of Al-Mufadliyat and Al-Asma'iyat, in addition to the anthologies of Jarir and Al-Farazdaq and poems from the book "Al-Shawarid" by Ibn Duraid. Ibn Maimonides wrote an explanation of some strange words on the sides of the leaves. He compiled this book after spending sixty years studying poetry, memorizing it, and transcribing its collections.
