يقدم إحسان عباس في كتابه "تاريخ النقد الأدبي عند العرب" دراسة موسعة عن تطور النقد الأدبي في العالم الإسلامي من أواخر القرن الثاني الهجري حتى القرن الثامن، مركزاً على المشرق والمغرب العربي. اتبع المؤلف منهجاً تدريجياً زمنياً لتمثيل النقد كحركة متطورة عبر العصور، وركز على القضايا الرئيسية دون التفاصيل الجزئية التي قد تشتت الانتباه عن الجوانب الفكرية للنقد. استقصى عدداً من النقاد من مختلف المدارس، سواء كانوا نقاداً تطبيقيين أم نظريين، لفهم الأسس الفكرية التي توجهت أعمالهم النقدية.
Translation
In his book “The History of Literary Criticism among the Arabs,” Ihsan Abbas presents an extensive study on the development of literary criticism in the Islamic world from the late second century AH until the eighth century, focusing on the Levant and the Maghreb. The author followed a gradual, chronological approach to represent criticism as an evolving movement across the ages, and focused on the main issues without partial details that might distract from the intellectual aspects of criticism. He investigated a number of critics from various schools, whether applied or theoretical critics, to understand the intellectual foundations that guided their critical works.
