ديوان المعاني لابن العسكري هو تأليف في الأدب والبلاغة يتناول أبلغ ما ورد في فنون مختلفة من الشعر والبيان، مختاراً ما هو جيد النظم محكم الرصف، بعيداً عن ما هو مهلهل رخو أو متجعد فج. يتناول الكتاب مواضيع متنوعة كالمدح، الأفتخار، الهجاء، والعتاب، معتمداً على أعلام المعاني وأعيانها وشذاذها، ويهدف إلى الوقوف على مبلغ علم الأديب ومقدار حفظه.
Translation
Diwan al-Ma’ani by Ibn al-Askari is a book on literature and rhetoric that deals with the most eloquent works of poetry and rhetoric, choosing what is well-arranged and tightly arranged, far from what is flimsy, loose, or wrinkled and crude. The book deals with various topics such as praise, pride, satire, and reproach, relying on the most prominent, notable, and anomalous meanings, and aims to determine the extent of the writer’s knowledge and the extent of his memorization.
