رسالة الغفران هي عملٌ أدبي لأبي العلاء المعري، شاعر وفيلسوف من العصر العباسي (363 هـ - 449 هـ) (973 -1057م)، تعتبر من أجمل ما كتب المعري في النثر، وهي رسالة تصف الأحوال في النعيم والسعير والشخصيات هناك، وقيل أن دانتي أليغييري، صاحب الملحمة الشعرية الكوميديا الإلهية أخذ عن أبي العلاء فكرة الملحمة ومضمونها. كتب عبد الفتاح كيلطو أن رسالة الغفران لم تكن مشهورة في عهده وأن معاصري أبي العلاء لم يعيروها اهتماما كبيرا، ولم يعتبروها تتميز عن باقي رسائله، كرسالة الملائكة، أو رسالة الجنز. …
Translation
The Epistle of Forgiveness is a literary work by Abu Al-Ala Al-Maarri, a poet and philosopher from the Abbasid era (363 AH - 449 AH) (973 - 1057 AD). It is considered one of the most beautiful things Al-Maarri wrote in prose. It is a letter that describes the conditions in heaven and hell and the characters there. It was said that Dante Alighieri, the author of the poetic epic The Divine Comedy, took the idea and content of the epic from Abu Al-Ala. Abdel Fattah Kilto wrote that the Epistle of Forgiveness was not popular during his reign and that Abu Al-Ala’s contemporaries did not pay much attention to it, and did not consider it distinct from the rest of his epistles, such as the Epistle of Angels, or the Epistle of Jinn. …
