يقدم الزوزني في كتابه "شرح المعلقات السبع" شرحاً متكاملاً لمعلقات بشار بن برد وأبي تمام إلى جانب المعلقات السبع لأبي العتاهية وطرفة بن العبّاد وجرير والأخطل. يتناول الكتاب نشأة الشعر الجاهلي وتطوره، مع التركيز على حياة الشعراء وأشعارهم. كما يعرض الزوزني للأساليب الفنية والتقنية المستخدمة في الشعر الجاهلي، ويناقش التقليد الفني للقصيدة العربية في العصر الجاهلي.
Translation
In his book, “Explanation of the Seven Mu’allaqat,” Al-Zawzni provides a comprehensive explanation of the Mu’allaqat of Bashar ibn Burd and Abu Tammam, in addition to the seven Mu’allaqat by Abu Al-Atahiya, Tarfa ibn Al-Abbad, Jarir, and Al-Akhtal. The book deals with the emergence and development of pre-Islamic poetry, with a focus on the lives and poems of poets. Al-Zouzni also presents the artistic and technical methods used in pre-Islamic poetry, and discusses the artistic tradition of the Arabic poem in the pre-Islamic era.
