Translation
This is the book “Uyun al-Akhbar” by Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Muslim bin Qutaybah al-Dinouri, and it is one of the works of literature and rhetoric. The book deals with various topics related to politics, ethics, and literature, providing advice and etiquette to writers, kings, and common people. The author focuses on straightening the tongue and hand and explaining the origins of literature, while presenting funny anecdotes and funny words to relieve the reader from seriousness. In his material, Ibn Qutaybah relies on various sources, including Arabic and Indian literature books and the sayings of scholars and jurists.
