This book deals with the narration of the sheikhs of Ibn al-Jawzi, a group of scholars from whom the hadith was taken. In it, Ibn al-Jawzi mentions seventy sheikhs, and describes his experience in seeking knowledge and hearing hadith from these sheikhs, expressing his interest in the quality of the scholarly quantity more than the large number. The book focuses on listing information related to each of these sheikhs, while mentioning some details about their scholarly lives and narratives.
