هذا كتاب يعرض ويحلل المؤلفات التي تناولت السيرة النبوية باللغة الإنجليزية، ويقسمها إلى قسمين رئيسيين: مؤلفات المسلمين، ومؤلفات غير المسلمين من الإنجليز والناطقين بالإنجليزية. يستعرض الكتاب بدايات التأليف في هذا المجال في العصر الحديث، متأثرًا بانتشار اللغة الإنجليزية في شبه القارة الهندية، ويركز على دوافع الكتابة لدى المسلمين كالرد على شبهات المستشرقين. كما يتناول بالتحليل نماذج بارزة من كتابات المستشرقين عن السيرة، مثل أعمال ميوير ومرغوليوث ووات.
Translation
This is a book that presents and analyzes the literature that dealt with the Prophet’s biography in English, and divides it into two main sections: Muslim writings, and non-Muslim writings from the English and English speakers. The book reviews the beginnings of writing in this field in the modern era, influenced by the spread of the English language in the Indian subcontinent, and focuses on the motivations for writing among Muslims, such as responding to the suspicions of Orientalists. It also analyzes prominent examples of Orientalist biographical writings, such as the works of Muir, Margoliouth, and Watt.
