About this work
مشكاة المصابيح هو كتاب من تأليف محمد الخطيب التبريزي جمع فيه متون الأحاديث النبوية ثم رتبها على طريقة كتب الجوامع، وأضاف الحكم عليها (بالصحة أو الحسن أو غيرها)، وكان متأثراً بكتاب مصابيح السنة للبغوي؛ ولكنه مع إعجابه بالمصابيح رأى أنها بحاجة لاستدراك، فألف مشكاة المصابيح، وقام بتخريج أحاديثه، وذكر اسم الصحابي الراوي للحديث؛ لأن البغوي لم يكن يذكر ذلك غالباً وقد قال التبريزي عن كتاب مصابيح السنة: .
Translation
The Misbah Al-Masabih is a book written by Muhammad Al-Khatib Al-Tabrizi in which he collected the texts of the Prophet’s hadiths, then arranged them in the manner of mosque books, and added judgment on them (as to whether they are authentic, good, or otherwise), and it was influenced by Al-Baghawi’s book Misbah Al-Sunnah. But despite his admiration for the lamps, he saw that they needed to be rectified, so he wrote the Mishkat al-Masabah, compiled his hadiths, and mentioned the name of the companion who narrated the hadith. Because Al-Baghawi did not often mention this, and Al-Tabrizi said about the book Misbah Al-Sunnah: .
