هذا كتاب يتناول تاريخ الدراسات اللغوية عند العرب منذ نشأتها المبكرة حتى القرن الخامس الهجري، حيث اكتملت الاتجاهات المعجمية وبلغ الدرس النحوي والصرفي والأصواتي ذروته. يضم الكتاب ثلاثة أبواب، يخصص أولها لدراسات تمهيدية عن مصادر اللغويين العرب والدراسات اللغوية عند غير العرب، ويعالج ثانيها مراحل تطور الدراسات اللغوية العربية في الأصوات والنحو والصرف والمعجم، ويناقش ثالثها قضية التأثير والتأثر بين الجهود اللغوية العربية والأجنبية.
Translation
This is a book that deals with the history of linguistic studies among the Arabs from its early inception until the fifth century AH, when lexical trends were completed and the study of grammar, morphology, and phonetics reached its peak. The book includes three sections, the first of which is devoted to introductory studies on the sources of Arab linguists and linguistic studies among non-Arabs, the second of which deals with the stages of development of Arabic linguistic studies in sounds, grammar, morphology, and lexicon, and the third of which discusses the issue of influence and influence between Arabic and foreign linguistic efforts.
