اللِّسَانِيَّات أو اللُّغَوِيَّات أو عِلْم اللُّغَة هو الدراسة العلمية للغة ما. تعتمد اللغويات على الدراسة النظرية إلى جانب الدراسة الوصفية للغة ما، وترتبط بالميادين التطبيقية لدراسات اللغة وتعلمها مما يستلزم دراسة لغات معينة. قبل القرن العشرين، تطورت اللغويات جنبًا إلى جنب مع الدراسة الأدبية ولم تستخدم الطرق العلمية. تعتبر اللغويات الحديثة علمًا لأنها تنطوي على تحليل شامل ومنهجي وموضوعي ودقيق لجميع جوانب اللغة، مثل الجانب المعرفي، والاجتماعي، والثقافي، والنفسي، والبيئي، والحيوي، والأدبي، والنحوي، وعلم الكتابات القديمة، والبنيوي. …

Linguistics, linguistics, or linguistics is the scientific study of a language. Linguistics depends on the theoretical study as well as the descriptive study of a language, and is linked to the applied fields of language studies and learning, which entails the study of specific languages. Before the twentieth century, linguistics developed alongside literary study and did not use scientific methods.
