هذا كتاب لغوي يدرس ظاهرة موت الألفاظ في العربية الفصحى، فيتناول الأسماء والأفعال التي هُجر استعمالها في عصور الاحتجاج اللغوي، ويبحث أسباب إماتتها كالعوامل الصوتية والدلالية والاجتماعية، ثم ينظر في إمكانية إحياء هذه الألفاظ المماتة وموقف العلماء ومجامع اللغة من ذلك.

This is a linguistic book that studies the phenomenon of the death of words in classical Arabic. It deals with nouns and verbs whose use was abandoned in the eras of linguistic protest, and examines the reasons for their death, such as phonetic, semantic, and social factors. Then it looks at the possibility of reviving these dead words and the position of scholars and language academies on that.
