كتابٌ يتناول تاريخ النحو العربي منذ نشأته، متتبّعًا مراحل تطوّره وبواعثه الأولى كاللحن. يدرس الكتاب المدرستين النحويّتين الرئيستين: البصريّة والكوفيّة، ويحلّل طبيعة الخلاف بينهما وأثره في مسائل السماع والقياس، مع نماذج تطبيقيّة من خلافات النحاة. كما يتعرّض لمذاهب لاحقة كالمذهب البغداديّ والمدرسة الأندلسيّة، ويختتم بفصول عن أبرز المصنّفات النحويّة ككتاب سيبويه وأعمال ابن جني والزمخشري وابن مالك.

Translation

A book that deals with the history of Arabic grammar since its inception, tracing the stages of its development and its first motives, such as melody. The book studies the two main grammatical schools: Basri and Kufic, and analyzes the nature of the disagreement between them and its impact on issues of hearing and analogy, with applied examples of grammarian disagreements. It also deals with later schools of thought, such as the Baghdadi school of thought and the Andalusian school, and concludes with chapters on the most prominent grammatical works, such as the book of Sibawayh and the works of Ibn Jinni, Al-Zamakhshari, and Ibn Malik.
