كتاب «التكملة لكتاب الصلة» للكاتب ابن الأبار هو مؤلف تاريخي يُكمل ما بدأه سلفه في كتاب الصلة، ويُعنى بسرد معلومات عن شخصيات تاريخية وفق ترتيب أبجدي يضمّ باب أحمد، باب بكر، وحروف أخرى، إضافة إلى قسم يذكر أسماء مثل موسى ومعاوية ومروان وغيرها. يشتمل العمل على جزئين يضمّان فصولًا تتناول أفرادًا وألقابًا وغرباءً، ما يُظهر طابعه البروسبوجرافي في توثيق الأسماء والأنساب. يُفتتح الكتاب بتمهيد ديني وأدبي يبرز هدف المؤلف في إكمال ما بدأه سلفه وتقديم ما يُسهم في حفظ التراث التاريخي.
Translation
The book “The Supplement to the Book of Connection” by Ibn al-Abar is a historical work that completes what his predecessor began in the Book of Connection. It is concerned with listing information about historical figures according to an alphabetical order that includes Bab Ahmad, Bab Bakr, and other letters, in addition to a section that mentions names such as Musa, Muawiyah, Marwan, and others. The work includes two parts that include chapters dealing with individuals, surnames, and strangers, which shows its prospographical character in documenting names and lineages. The book opens with a religious and literary introduction that highlights the author’s goal of completing what his predecessor began and providing what contributes to preserving the historical heritage.
