يعد المعجب في تلخيص أخبار المغرب من أهم المصنفات التاريخية التي تناولت تاريخ المغرب والأندلس خلال العصور الإسلامية، ألفه عبد الواحد المراكشي استجابة لطلب أحد الأعيان الرئيسيين. يتناول الكتاب أحداث فتح الأندلس وسير الملوك الذين حكموا المنطقة، مع التركيز على حكم الأمويين والمرابطين والموحدين، ويذكر أيضًا أعلام الفضل والأدب الذين عاصروا المؤلف. رغم اعتراف المراكشي ببعض عيوبه في التأليف، فإن الكتاب يعد مرجعًا مهمًا للتاريخ السياسي والثقافي للمغرب والأندلس في العصر الإسلامي.
Translation
Al-Mujab fi Summarizing Moroccan News is considered one of the most important historical works that dealt with the history of Morocco and Andalusia during the Islamic era. It was written by Abdel Wahed al-Marrakshi in response to the request of one of the major notables. The book deals with the events of the conquest of Andalusia and the biographies of the kings who ruled the region, with a focus on the rule of the Umayyads, Almoravids, and Almohads. It also mentions the figures of virtue and literature who were contemporary with the author. Although Al-Marrakshi admits to some of his flaws in writing, the book is an important reference for the political and cultural history of Morocco and Andalusia in the Islamic era.
