Translation

The book of history by Khalifa bin Khayyat is considered one of the oldest books written in the annals, and the sources indicate that the original copy of it has been lost and has not reached us today except from the narration of the Andalusian imam Baqi bin Makhlid, which is the only copy in circulation at the present time. The author began it by saying: “This is the book of history, and through history people knew the matter of their Hajj and fasting, the expiration of the number of their wives, and the settlement of their debts...”
