يُعَدّ تاريخ دمشق لابن القلانسي مؤلفًا تاريخيًا يسلط الضوء على مسار المدينة من الفتح الإسلامي وحتى العصور العباسية، موثّقًا تفاصيل الولايات والحكام الذين تولوا شؤونها عبر القرون مع الإشارة إلى تواريخ محددة مثل ستين وثلاثمائة سنة هجرية وما تلاها. ويتناول الكتاب التحولات العمرانية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية التي شهدتها دمشق في ظل الصراعات بين السلالات المختلفة، مستندًا إلى مقدمة المحقق ومدخل يوضح أثر الفتح على البنية العربية للمنطقة.
Translation
Ibn al-Qalanisi's History of Damascus is a historical work that sheds light on the city's path from the Islamic conquest until the Abbasid eras, documenting the details of the states and rulers who took over its affairs over the centuries with reference to specific dates such as sixty-three hundred years AH and what followed. The book deals with the urban, social, and economic transformations that Damascus witnessed in light of the conflicts between different dynasties, based on the investigator’s introduction and an introduction that explains the impact of the conquest on the Arab structure of the region.
