كتاب تاريخ عجائب الآثار في التراجم والأخبار للجبريتي يُعَدُّ مؤلفًا تاريخيًا يَستعرض حوادث مصر وتراجم أعيانها وولاتها عبر فصولٍ مرتبةً بحسب السنين، بدءًا من عام ١١٤٣ وصولًا إلى أوائل القرن الثالث عشر. يدمج المؤلف في محتواه سردًا للأحداث مع سِجِلّاتٍ شخصيةٍ لأبرز الشخصيات، مسلطًا الضوء على تطورات المجتمع المصري ومآثره عبر الفترات المذكورة. يَظهر من المقدمة تأكيدٌ على أهمية العدل والإنصاف في تنظيم شؤون الإنسان، ما يُعطي للكتاب طابعًا فلسفيًا إلى جانب عرضه التاريخي.

Translation

The book The History of the Wonders of Antiquities in Biographies and News by Al-Jabriti is considered a historical book that reviews the events of Egypt and the biographies of its notables and rulers through chapters organized by year, starting from the year 1143 and continuing until the early thirteenth century. The author combines in its content a narration of events with personal records of the most prominent figures, shedding light on the developments of Egyptian society and its exploits throughout the mentioned periods. The introduction shows an emphasis on the importance of justice and fairness in organizing human affairs, which gives the book a philosophical character in addition to its historical presentation.
