The book “Studies in the History of the Ancient Arabs” by Muhammad Bayoumi Mahran is a historical book that deals with the sources of Arab history before Islam, starting with archaeological sources and passing through Jewish, Christian, and Arab writings. It also reviews modern scientific research in various regions of the Arabian Peninsula. The book focuses on criticizing the methodology of Islamic historians in treating pre-Islamic times, while showing the gaps and confusion in relying on oral narratives. It also adds chapters on the geography of the Arabian Peninsula and its historical division according to Greek and Roman sources.
