كتاب «عيون الروضتين في أخبار الدولتين النورية والصلاحية» للكاتب أبو شامة المقدسي هو مؤلف تاريخي يروي تفاصيل الأحداث السياسية والعسكرية في بلاد الزنكي، خاصةً في الموصل وحمص وسوريا خلال منتصف القرن الثالث عشر. يتضمن فصولاً تتناول فتح المدن، وحصص السلاطين، ومآتمهم، وتفاصيل الصراعات مع الفرس والفرنج، إضافة إلى سيرة بعض القادة. يختتم المؤلف بسرد الوقائع السنوية من عام اثنين وأربعين إلى خمسين من القرن الخامس، مما يوفّر مرجعاً مهماً لفهم تاريخ المنطقة في تلك الفترة.
Translation
The book “Uyun al-Rawdhatain fi Akhbar al-Dawlat al-Nuriya wa al-Salihiyya” by Abu Shamah al-Maqdisi is a historical work that narrates the details of the political and military events in the lands of the Zengi, especially in Mosul, Homs, and Syria during the middle of the thirteenth century. It includes chapters dealing with the conquest of cities, the sultans' shares, their funerals, and details of the conflicts with the Persians and Franks, in addition to the biography of some of the leaders. The author concludes by narrating the annual events from the years forty-two to fifty of the fifth century, which provides an important reference for understanding the history of the region in that period.
