About this work
فتوح البلدان: أجمع كتب الفتوح وأصحها ويُعد هذا المؤلف من أوائل كتب التاريخ العربية. اختصره البلاذُري من كتابه الضخم "البلدان الكبير"، ألفه البلاذري أحمد بن يحيى بن جابر بن داود المتوفي سنة 278هـ. يتحدث الكتاب عن فتوحات المسلمين منذ عهد النبي محمد إلى وقت تدوينه، وقد جمع البلاذري فيه تفاصيل الغزو وما تبعها من تنظيم إداري لكل البلاد التي فتحها العرب.
Translation
Conquests of Countries: The most comprehensive and authentic book of conquests. This book is considered one of the first Arabic history books. Al-Baladhuri summarized it from his huge book, “Al-Buldan Al-Kabir,” written by Al-Baladhuri Ahmed bin Yahya bin Jaber bin Daoud, who died in the year 278 AH. The book talks about the conquests of Muslims from the time of the Prophet Muhammad until the time of its writing. Al-Baladhuri collected in it the details of the conquest and the subsequent administrative organization of all the countries conquered by the Arabs.
