كتاب «فتوح مصر والمغرب» للكاتب ابن عبد الحكم هو مؤلف تاريخي يجمع روايات متعددة حول تاريخ مصر قبل الإسلام وفتوحها الإسلامي وتفاصيل الإدارة تحت عمرو بن العاص، بالإضافة إلى سيرة الفتوحات في المغرب والأندلس. يعتمد المؤلف على مصادر من مدرسة يزيد بن أبي حبيب وغيرها، ويقسم مؤلفه إلى أجزاء تتناول فضائل مصر، والفتح، والخطط، وإدارة الأراضي، وفتوح إفريقيا. يُعَدّ هذا الكتاب من أقدم المراجع المكتوبة عن العهد الإسلامي في مصر، ويعكس تأثير الأسرة العلمية التي ينتمي إليها المؤلف في مجال الفقه والحديث.

Translation

The book “Conquests of Egypt and Morocco” by Ibn Abd al-Hakam is a historical work that collects multiple narratives about the history of Egypt before Islam, its Islamic conquests, and the details of the administration under Amr ibn al-Aas, in addition to the biography of the conquests in Morocco and Andalusia. The author relies on sources from the school of Yazid ibn Abi Habib and others, and divides his book into parts that deal with the virtues of Egypt, conquest, plans, land administration, and the conquests of Africa. This book is considered one of the oldest written references about the Islamic era in Egypt, and reflects the influence of the scholarly family to which the author belongs in the field of jurisprudence and hadith.
