كتاب «مرآة الجنان وعبرة اليقظان في معرفة ما يعتبر» للشيخ اليافعي يصنف ضمن أدب التاريخ. يستعرض فيه سيرة النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم عبر تسلسل السنوات الهجرية مع ذكر تواضعه، خُلقه، عبادته، معجزاته، وصفاته المادية والروحية، إضافة إلى ما يتعلق بأصحابه وخلفائه وملوك زمانهم. يعتمد المؤلف في تجميعه على مصادر تاريخية من كتب الشمائل والتواريخ، مع اختصار للمعارف لتسهيل الاطلاع على أهم الوقائع والنوادر.
Translation
The book “Mirror of Heaven and the Lesson of Al-Yaqzan in Knowing What is Considered” by Sheikh Al-Yafi’i is classified as historical literature. It reviews the biography of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, through the sequence of the Hijri years, mentioning his humility, his character, his worship, his miracles, and his material and spiritual attributes, in addition to what relates to his companions, successors, and kings of their time. In his compilation, the author relies on historical sources from the books of shamail and histories, with abbreviations of knowledge to facilitate access to the most important facts and anecdotes.
