Hadith 1,309Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَعَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ وَرْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ قَالَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ نِعْمَ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَأَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَأُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

Waki’ told us, Nafi’ bin Umar and Abdul-Jabbar bin Ward narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Abi Mulaykah, who said: Talha bin Ubaid, may God be pleased with him, said: On the authority of him, I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying, “The best people of the household are Abdullah, Abu Abdullah, and Umm Abdullah.”

Hadith 1,311Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَكُنَّا مَعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَنَحْنُ حُرُمٌ فَأُهْدِيَ لَهُ طَيْرٌ وَطَلْحَةُ رَاقِدٌ فَمِنَّا مَنْ أَكَلَ وَمِنَّا مَنْ تَوَرَّعَ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ طَلْحَةُ وَفَّقَ مَنْ أَكَلَهُ وَقَالَ أَكَلْنَاهُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Muhammad bin Bakr told us, Ibn Jurayj told us, Muhammad bin Al-Munkadir told me, on the authority of Muadh bin Abdul Rahman bin Othman Al-Taymi, on the authority of his father Abd al-Rahman bin Uthman said: We were with Talha bin Ubaidullah, may God be pleased with him, and we were in a state of sanctuary, so a bird was given to him as a gift, and Talha was lying in our mouths. Whoever ate it, and whoever among us was extravagant did not eat. When Talha woke up, whoever ate it woke up and said, “We ate it with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.”

Hadith 1,312Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفٌ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَرَأَى عُمَرُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ثَقِيلًا فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ يَا أَبَا فُلَانٍ لَعَلَّكَ سَاءَتْكَ إِمْرَةُ ابْنِ عَمِّكَ يَا أَبَا فُلَانٍ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا مَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ عَنْهُ إِلَّا الْقُدْرَةُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى مَاتَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَا يَقُولُهَا عَبْدٌ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا أَشْرَقَ لَهَا لَوْنُهُ وَنَفَّسَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَتَهُ قَالَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ مَا هِيَ قَالَ وَمَا هِيَ قَالَ تَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً أَعْظَمَ مِنْ كَلِمَةٍ أَمَرَ بِهَا عَمَّهُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ قَالَ طَلْحَةُ صَدَقْتَ هِيَ وَاللَّهِ هِيَ

Asbat narrated to us, Mutarrif narrated to us, on the authority of Amir, on the authority of Yahya bin Talha, on the authority of his father, who said: Omar saw Talha bin Ubaidullah as heavy, so he said, “What’s the matter with you, O Father of so-and-so. Perhaps you are upset about your cousin’s wife, O father of so-and-so. He said, “No, except that I heard a conversation from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” Nothing prevented me from asking him about him except the power over him until he died. I heard him say, “I know of a word that no servant would say at the time of his death except Its color shone and God relieved him of his distress. Then Omar, may God be pleased with him, said, “Indeed, I know what it is.” He said, “And what it is.” He said, “You know a word.” Greater than the word that his uncle commanded upon his death: “There is no god but God.” Talha said, “She is right, and by God, she is right.”

Hadith 1,313Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ قَالَ قَيْسٌرَأَيْتُ طَلْحَةَ يَدُهُ شَلَّاءُ وَقَى بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ

Waki` told us, on the authority of Ismail, who said: Qaysir said: I saw Talha’s hand being cut off, with which he protected the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, on the day of Uhud.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْنٍ الْغِفَارِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ هُوَ وَرَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو يُوسُفَ مِنْ بَنِي تَيْمٍ عَلَى رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ لَهُ أَبُو يُوسُفَ إِنَّا لَنَجِدُ عِنْدَ غَيْرِكَ مِنْ الْحَدِيثِ مَا لَا نَجِدُهُ عِنْدَكَ فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنَّ عِنْدِي حَدِيثًا كَثِيرًا وَلَكِنَّ رَبِيعَةَ بْنَ الْهُدَيْرِ قَالَ وَكَانَ يَلْزَمُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ طَلْحَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا قَطُّ غَيْرَ حَدِيثٍ وَاحِدٍ قَالَ رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قُلْتُ لَهُ وَمَا هُوَ قَالَ قَالَ لِي طَلْحَةُخَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى أَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى حَرَّةِ وَاقِمٍ قَالَ فَدَنَوْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِذَا قُبُورٌ بِمَحْنِيَّةٍ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قُبُورُ إِخْوَانِنَا هَذِهِ قَالَ قُبُورُ أَصْحَابِنَا ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا حَتَّى إِذَا جِئْنَا قُبُورَ الشُّهَدَاءِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ قُبُورُ إِخْوَانِنَا

Ali bin Abdullah told us, Muhammad bin Maan Al-Ghafari told me, Dawud bin Khaled bin Dinar told me that he and a man called Abu Yusuf from Bani Taim, according to Rabi’ah bin Abi Abd al-Rahman, may God be pleased with him. He said: Abu Yusuf said to him: “Indeed, we will find other hadiths from you.” What we do not find with you, he said, “I have many hadiths,” but Rabi’ah ibn al-Hudair said, and he was insisting on Talha ibn Ubayd Allah, that he did not He heard Talha narrating on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, a single hadith other than a single hadith. Rabi’ah bin Abi Abd al-Rahman said, “I told him, and what He said: Talha told me: We went out with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, until we overlooked Harrat Waqim. He said: So we approached it, and behold, there were graves. Then we said, “O Messenger of God, these are the graves of our brothers.” He said, “The graves of our companions.” Then we left, until when we came to the graves of the martyrs. He said The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “These are the graves of our brothers.”

Hadith 1,316Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَكُنَّا نُصَلِّي وَالدَّوَابُّ تَمُرُّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مِثْلُ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ تَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَحَدِكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَضُرُّهُ مَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ عُمَرُ مَرَّةً بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

Omar bin Ubaid told us, on the authority of Samak bin Harb, on the authority of Musa bin Talha, on the authority of his father. He said: We used to pray while the animals passed before us, so we mentioned that. To the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and he said, “The example of the back of a saddlebag is in the hands of one of you, and then what passes over it does not harm him.” He said, “Omar was once in his hands.”

Hadith 1,318Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الْإِسْلَامُ قَالَ خَمْسُ صَلَوَاتٍ فِي يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ قَالَ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهُنَّ قَالَ لَا وَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ الصَّوْمِ فَقَالَ صِيَامُ رَمَضَانَ قَالَ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهُ قَالَ لَا قَالَ وَذَكَرَ الزَّكَاةَ قَالَ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهَا قَالَ لَا قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَا أَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَلَا أَنْقُصُ مِنْهُنَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَفْلَحَ إِنْ صَدَقَ

Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Malik narrated to us, on the authority of his uncle, on the authority of his father, that he heard Talha ibn Ubaid Allah say, “A Bedouin came to the Messenger of God.” God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “O Messenger of God, what is Islam?” He said, “Five prayers in a day and a night.” He said, “Do I have to do anything else?” He said, “No,” and asked him. About fasting. He said, “Fasting Ramadan.” He said, “Am I obligated to do anything else?” He said, “No.” He said, and he mentioned zakat. He said, “Am I obligated to do anything else?” He said, “No.” He said, “By God, I will not add more to them.” There are no fewer than them. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “He has succeeded if he is truthful.”

Hadith 1,319Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسٍسَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَطَلْحَةَ وَالزُّبَيْرِ وَسَعْدٍ نَشَدْتُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي تَقُومُ بِهِ السَّمَاءُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً الَّذِي بِإِذْنِهِ تَقُومُ أَعَلِمْتُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّا لَا نُورَثُ مَا تَرَكْنَا صَدَقَةٌ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ

Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Amr, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Malik bin Aws. I heard Omar, may God be pleased with him, saying to Abd al-Rahman, Talha, and al-Zubayr. And Saad: I appeal to you by God by whom the heavens and the earth stand. And Sufyan once said, “By the One by whose permission they stand. Did you know that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, He, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “We do not inherit anything we leave as charity.” They said, “Oh God, yes.”

Hadith 1,320Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَكُنَّا مَعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ وَنَحْنُ حُرُمٌ فَأُهْدِيَ لَهُ طَيْرٌ وَطَلْحَةُ رَاقِدٌ فَمِنَّا مَنْ أَكَلَ وَمِنَّا مَنْ تَوَرَّعَ فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ طَلْحَةُ وَفَّقَ مَنْ أَكَلَهُ وَقَالَ أَكَلْنَاهُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Hadith 1,322Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَمَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فِي رُءُوسِ النَّخْلِ فَقَالَ مَا يَصْنَعُ هَؤُلَاءِ قَالُوا يُلَقِّحُونَهُ يَجْعَلُونَ الذَّكَرَ فِي الْأُنْثَى قَالَ مَا أَظُنُّ ذَلِكَ يُغْنِي شَيْئًا فَأُخْبِرُوا بِذَلِكَ فَتَرَكُوهُ فَأُخْبِرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ يَنْفَعُهُمْ فَلْيَصْنَعُوهُ فَإِنِّي إِنَّمَا ظَنَنْتُ ظَنًّا فَلَا تُؤَاخِذُونِي بِالظَّنِّ وَلَكِنْ إِذَا أَخْبَرْتُكُمْ عَنْ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِشَيْءٍ فَخُذُوهُ فَإِنِّي لَنْ أَكْذِبَ عَلَى اللَّهِ شَيْئًا

Bahz and Affan told us, they said, Abu Awanah told us, on the authority of Simak, on the authority of Musa bin Talha, on the authority of his father, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, passed. On a people in the tops of palm trees. He said, “What are these people doing?” They said, “They pollinate it. They put the male in the female.” He said, “I don’t think that is of any use.” So they were informed of that, so they abandoned it. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was informed and said, “If it will benefit them, then let them do it, for I am only under a suspicion.” So do not hold me to suspicion, but if I tell you something about God Almighty, take it, for I will never lie to God about anything.

Hadith 1,332Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسٍسَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَطَلْحَةَ وَالزُّبَيْرِ وَسَعْدٍ نَشَدْتُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي تَقُومُ بِهِ السَّمَاءُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً الَّذِي بِإِذْنِهِ تَقُومُ أَعَلِمْتُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّا لَا نُورَثُ مَا تَرَكْنَا صَدَقَةٌ قَالَ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ

Hadith 1,333Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَأَنْ يَحْمِلَ الرَّجُلُ حَبْلًا فَيَحْتَطِبَ بِهِ ثُمَّ يَجِيءَ فَيَضَعَهُ فِي السُّوقِ فَيَبِيعَهُ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْنِيَ بِهِ فَيُنْفِقَهُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ أَعْطَوْهُ أَوْ مَنَعُوهُ

Hafs bin Ghayath told us, on the authority of Hisham, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Al-Zubayr bin Al-Awwam, who said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: Because a man becomes pregnant It is better for him than to ask people. They gave it or withheld it

Hadith 1,334Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَجَمَعَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَوَيْهِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ

Abu Muawiyah told us, Hisham told us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr, on the authority of Al-Zubayr, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, gathered for me His parents on Sunday

Hadith 1,336Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي التَّيْمِيَّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِأَنَّ رَجُلًا حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا غَمْرَةُ أَوْ غَمْرَاءُ وَقَالَ فَوَجَدَ فَرَسًا أَوْ مُهْرًا يُبَاعُ فَنُسِبَتْ إِلَى تِلْكَ الْفَرَسِ فَنُهِيَ عَنْهَا

Yazid bin Harun told us, Sulayman, meaning Al-Taymi, told us, on the authority of Abu Uthman, on the authority of Abdullah bin Amir, on the authority of Al-Zubayr bin Al-Awwam, that A man mounted a mare called Ghumrah or Ghamraa and said, “He found a mare or foal being sold, and it was attributed to that mare, so he was forbidden from doing so.”

Hadith 1,337Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَكُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْجُمُعَةَ ثُمَّ نَنْصَرِفُ فَنَبْتَدِرُ الْآجَامَ فَلَا نَجِدُ إِلَّا قَدْرَ مَوْضِعِ أَقْدَامِنَاقَالَ يَزِيدُ الْآجَامُ هِيَ الْآطَامُ

Yazid told us, Ibn Abi Dhib told us, on the authority of Muslim bin Jundub, on the authority of Al-Zubayr bin Al-Awwam, may God be pleased with him. He said: We used to pray with the Messenger of God. حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَقُلْتُ لِلزُّبَيْرِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَا لِي لَا أَسْمَعُكَ تُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا أَسْمَعُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ وَفُلَانًا وَفُلَانًا قَالَ أَمَا إِنِّي لَمْ أُفَارِقْهُ مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ مِنْهُ كَلِمَةً مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ

Muhammad bin Ja`far told us, Shu`bah told us, on the authority of Jami` bin Shaddad, on the authority of Amir bin Abdullah bin al-Zubayr, on the authority of his father, I said to al-Zubayr May God be pleased with him, what is the matter with me that I do not hear you speaking on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, as I hear Ibn Masoud and so-and-so and so-and-so said: As for me I have not left him since I converted to Islam, but I heard from him a word: Whoever lies to me intentionally, let him take his seat in Hell.

Hadith 1,340Musnad Ahmad

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَدَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا غَيْلَانُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ قَالَقُلْنَا لِلزُّبَيْرِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَا جَاءَ بِكُمْ ضَيَّعْتُمْ الْخَلِيفَةَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ ثُمَّ جِئْتُمْ تَطْلُبُونَ بِدَمِهِ قَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّا قَرَأْنَاهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ{ وَاتَّقُوا فِتْنَةً لَا تُصِيبَنَّ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْكُمْ خَاصَّةً }لَمْ نَكُنْ نَحْسَبُ أَنَّا أَهْلُهَا حَتَّى وَقَعَتْ مِنَّا حَيْثُ وَقَعَتْ

Abu Sa’id, the client of Banu Hashim, narrated to us. Shaddad, meaning Ibn Sa’id, narrated to us. Ghailan bin Jarir narrated to us, on the authority of Mutarrif. We said to al-Zubayr Radi. May God bless him, O Abu Abdullah. He did not bring you. You destroyed the Caliph until he was killed, then you came to demand his blood. Al-Zubayr, may God be pleased with him, said Indeed, We recited it at the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and Abu Bakr, Omar, and Uthman, may God be pleased with them. حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كُنَاسَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيِّرُوا الشَّيْبَ وَلَا تَشَبَّهُوا بِالْيَهُودِ

Muhammad bin Kanasa told us, Hisham bin Urwa told us, on the authority of Uthman bin Urwa, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Al-Zubayr, may God be pleased with him. The Messenger said: May God bless him and grant him peace. Change your gray hair and do not resemble the Jews.

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَوْجَبَ طَلْحَةُ حِينَ صَنَعَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا صَنَعَ يَعْنِي حِينَ بَرَكَ لَهُ طَلْحَةُ فَصَعِدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ

Ya'qub told us, my father told us, on the authority of Ibn Ishaq, Yahya bin Abbad bin Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr told me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abdullah bin Al-Zubair, on the authority of Al-Zubayr, may God be pleased with him, said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say, “On that day, Talha was made obligatory when he did something to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” May God bless him and grant him peace, what he did, meaning when Talha blessed him for him, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, climbed on his back.

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي الزُّبَيْرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ أَقْبَلَتْ امْرَأَةٌ تَسْعَى حَتَّى إِذَا كَادَتْ أَنْ تُشْرِفَ عَلَى الْقَتْلَى قَالَ فَكَرِهَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَرَاهُمْ فَقَالَ الْمَرْأَةَ الْمَرْأَةَ قَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَتَوَسَّمْتُ أَنَّهَا أُمِّي صَفِيَّةُ قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ أَسْعَى إِلَيْهَا فَأَدْرَكْتُهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنْتَهِيَ إِلَى الْقَتْلَى قَالَ فَلَدَمَتْ فِي صَدْرِي وَكَانَتْ امْرَأَةً جَلْدَةً قَالَتْ إِلَيْكَ لَا أَرْضَ لَكَ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَزَمَ عَلَيْكِ قَالَ فَوَقَفَتْ وَأَخْرَجَتْ ثَوْبَيْنِ مَعَهَا فَقَالَتْ هَذَانِ ثَوْبَانِ جِئْتُ بِهِمَا لِأَخِي حَمْزَةَ فَقَدْ بَلَغَنِي مَقْتَلُهُ فَكَفِّنُوهُ فِيهِمَا قَالَ فَجِئْنَا بِالثَّوْبَيْنِ لِنُكَفِّنَ فِيهِمَا حَمْزَةَ فَإِذَا إِلَى جَنْبِهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ قَتِيلٌ قَدْ فُعِلَ بِهِ كَمَا فُعِلَ بِحَمْزَةَ قَالَ فَوَجَدْنَا غَضَاضَةً وَحَيَاءً أَنْ نُكَفِّنَ حَمْزَةَ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ وَالْأَنْصَارِيُّ لَا كَفَنَ لَهُ فَقُلْنَا لِحَمْزَةَ ثَوْبٌ وَلِلْأَنْصَارِيِّ ثَوْبٌ فَقَدَرْنَاهُمَا فَكَانَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَكْبَرَ مِنْ الْآخَرِ فَأَقْرَعْنَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَكَفَّنَّا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا فِي الثَّوْبِ الَّذِي صَارَ لَهُ
