Sunan Ad-Darimi

حَدَّثَنَا فَرْوَةُ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ عَنْ إِسْمَعِيلَ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ عَبَّادٍ أَبِي يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَكَّةَ فَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ فِي بَعْضِ نَوَاحِيهَا فَمَرَرْنَا بَيْنَ الْجِبَالِ وَالشَّجَرِ فَلَمْ نَمُرَّ بِشَجَرَةٍ وَلَا جَبَلٍ إِلَّا قَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

Farwa told us, Al-Walid bin Abi Thawr Al-Hamdani told us, on the authority of Ismail Al-Suddi, on the authority of Abbad Abi Yazid, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, who said We were with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in Mecca, so we went out with him to some of its areas, so we passed between mountains and trees, but we did not pass a tree or a mountain. Except he said, “Peace be upon you, O Messenger of God.”

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شِمْرِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ أَوْ جُهَيْنَةَ قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْفَجْرَ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِقَرِيبٍ مِنْ مِائَةِ ذِئْبٍ قَدْ أَقْعَيْنَ وُفُودُ الذِّئَابِ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَرْضَخُوا لَهُمْ شَيْئًا مِنْ طَعَامِكُمْ وَتَأْمَنُونَ عَلَى مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ فَشَكَوْا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحَاجَةَ قَالَ فَآذِنُوهُنَّ قَالَ فَآذَنُوهُنَّ فَخَرَجْنَ وَلَهُنَّ عُوَاءٌ

Muhammad ibn Yusuf informed us, Sufyan informed us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Shimr ibn Atiya, on the authority of a man from Muzainah or Juhaynah, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace May God bless him and grant him peace. At dawn, he was near a hundred wolves, and a flock of wolves had fallen. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to them: Give them some of your food and be safe from anything else, so complain to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, about the need. He said, “Then give them permission.” He said, “So they called them out, and they came out, and they were howling.”

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ جَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ حَزِينٌ وَقَدْ تَخَضَّبَ بِالدَّمِ مِنْ فِعْلِ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُرِيَكَ آيَةً قَالَ نَعَمْ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى شَجَرَةٍ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ فَقَالَ ادْعُ بِهَا فَدَعَا بِهَا فَجَاءَتْ وَقَامَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ مُرْهَا فَلْتَرْجِعْ فَأَمَرَهَا فَرَجَعَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَسْبِي حَسْبِي

Ishaq bin Ibrahim told us, Abu Muawiyah told us, Al-A’mash told us, on the authority of Abu Sufyan, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, he said: Gabriel came to The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sitting sad and covered in blood from the actions of the people of Mecca, the Quraysh. Gabriel said, O Messenger of God. Would you like me to show you a verse? He said, “Yes.” Then he looked at a tree behind him and said, “Call upon it.” So they called upon it, and it came and stood before him. He said, “Pray for it.” Let her return. He commanded her, and she returned, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “It is sufficient for me. It is sufficient for me.”

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ أَتَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا أُرِيكَ آيَةً قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ فَاذْهَبْ فَادْعُ تِلْكَ النَّخْلَةَ فَدَعَاهَا فَجَاءَتْ تَنْقُزُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ قَالَ قُلْ لَهَا تَرْجِعْ قَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ارْجِعِي فَرَجَعَتْ حَتَّى عَادَتْ إِلَى مَكَانِهَا فَقَالَ يَا بَنِي عَامِرٍ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا كَالْيَوْمِ أَسْحَرَ مِنْهُ

Ishaq bin Ibrahim told us, Jarir and Abu Muawiya told us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Abu Dhabyan, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: A man from Bani Amir was the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Shall I not show you a sign?” He said, “Yes.” He said, “Then go and leave that palm tree.” So he called her and she came jumping in his hands. He said, “Tell her to go back.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to her, “Go back.” So she went back until she returned to In its place, he said, O Banu Amir, I have never seen a man more enchanted than him today.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ دَعَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلَالًا فَطَلَبَ بِلَالٌ الْمَاءَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَالَ لَا وَاللَّهِ مَا وَجَدْتُ الْمَاءَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَهَلْ مِنْ شَنٍّ فَأَتَاهُ بِشَنٍّ فَبَسَطَ كَفَّيْهِ فِيهِ فَانْبَعَثَتْ تَحْتَ يَدَيْهِ عَيْنٌ قَالَ فَكَانَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ يَشْرَبُ وَغَيْرُهُ يَتَوَضَّأُ

Ismail bin Ibrahim told us, Shuaib bin Safwan told us, on the authority of Ata’ bin Al-Sa’ib, on the authority of Abu Al-Duha, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said the Prophet prayed May God bless him and grant him peace. Bilal asked for water, then he came and said, “No, by God, I have not found water.” The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Is there anything wrong with that?” So he brought him a piece of water, and he spread his hands over it, and a spring appeared under his hands, he said, and Ibn Masoud used to drink while others performed ablution.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ غَزَوْنَا أَوْ سَافَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ وَمِائَتَانِ فَحَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَلْ فِي الْقَوْمِ مِنْ طَهُورٍ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَى بِإِدَاوَةٍ فِيهَا شَيْءٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ لَيْسَ فِي الْقَوْمِ مَاءٌ غَيْرُهُ فَصَبَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قَدَحٍ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَتَرَكَ الْقَدَحَ فَرَكِبَ النَّاسُ ذَلِكَ الْقَدَحَ وَقَالُوا تَمَسَّحُوا تَمَسَّحُوا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رِسْلِكُمْ حِينَ سَمِعَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ ذَلِكَ فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَفَّهُ فِي الْمَاءِ وَالْقَدَحِ وَقَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَسْبِغُوا الطُّهُورَ فَوَالَّذِي هُوَ ابْتَلَانِي بِبَصَرِي لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ الْعُيُونَ عُيُونَ الْمَاءِ تَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهَا حَتَّى تَوَضَّئُوا أَجْمَعُونَ

Abu Al-Numan told us, Abu Awanah told us, on the authority of Al-Aswad bin Qays, on the authority of Nabih Al-Anazi, he said: Jabir bin Abdullah said: We invaded or... We traveled with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and we were one hundred and twelve on that day. Prayer came and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: He asked, “Is there any purification available among the people?” Then a man came running with a vessel that contained some water that the people had no other water in. So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, poured it into it. And peace be upon him in a cup, then he performed ablution and performed the ablution well, then he went away and left the cup, so the people sat in that cup and said, “wipe yourself,” so he said. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, upon your messengers when he heard them say that. So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, put his palm in the water. And the goblet and said, “In the name of God,” then he said, “Perfectly purify yourself,” and He is the one who tested me with my sight. I have seen eyes, eyes of water coming out from between his fingers and did not lift them until all of you had performed ablution.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ وَحُصَيْنٍ سَمِعَا سَالِمَ بْنَ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَصَابَنَا عَطَشٌ فَجَهَشْنَا فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي تَوْرٍ فَجَعَلَ يَفُورُ كَأَنَّهُ عُيُونٌ مِنْ خَلَلِ أَصَابِعِهِ وَقَالَ اذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فَشَرِبْنَا حَتَّى وَسِعَنَا وَكَفَانَا وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ فَقُلْنَا لِجَابِرٍ كَمْ كُنْتُمْ قَالَ كُنَّا أَلْفًا وَخَمْسَ مِائَةٍ وَلَوْ كُنَّا مِائَةَ أَلْفٍ لَكَفَانَا

Abu Al-Walid Al-Tayalisi and Sa’id bin Al-Rabi’ told us, saying: Shu’bah told us on the authority of Amr bin Murrah and Husayn who heard Salim bin Abi Al-Ja’d. He says, “I heard Jabir bin Abdullah say, ‘We were struck with thirst, so we became nervous, so we went to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he put his hand in a bowl. Then it began to bubble as if it were springs through his fingers and said, “Mention the name of God.” So we drank until we had enough and it was enough for us, and in the hadith of Amr ibn Murrah, we said To Jabir, “How many were you?” He said, “We were one thousand and five hundred. If we had been one hundred thousand, it would have been enough for us.”

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْجَعْدُ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ شَكَا أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْعَطَشَ فَدَعَا بِعُسٍّ فَصُبَّ فِيهِ مَاءٌ وَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ فِيهِ قَالَ فَجَعَلْتُ أَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْمَاءِ يَنْبُعُ عُيُونًا مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالنَّاسُ يَسْتَقُونَ حَتَّى اسْتَقَى النَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ

Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Raqqashi told us, Ja’far bin Sulaiman told us, Al-Ja’ad Abu Uthman told us, Anas bin Malik told us, Jabir told us Ibn Abdullah said: The companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, complained to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, about being thirsty, so he called for a cup and poured it into it. Water and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, put his hand in it and said, I started to look at the water springing up from between the fingers of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Peace and blessings of God be upon him, and the people were drawing water until all of the people were drawing water.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَمِعَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بِخَسْفٍ فَقَالَ كُنَّا أَصْحَابَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَعُدُّ الْآيَاتِ بَرَكَةً وَأَنْتُمْ تَعُدُّونَهَا تَخْوِيفًا إِنَّا بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَيْسَ مَعَنَا مَاءٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اطْلُبُوا مَنْ مَعَهُ فَضْلُ مَاءٍ فَأُتِيَ بِمَاءٍ فَصَبَّهُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ ثُمَّ وَضَعَ كَفَّهُ فِيهِ فَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ حَيَّ عَلَى الطَّهُورِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَالْبَرَكَةُ مِنْ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فَشَرِبْنَا و قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ تَسْبِيحَ الطَّعَامِ وَهُوَ يُؤْكَلُ

Ubayd Allah ibn Musa informed us on the authority of Israel, on the authority of Mansour, on the authority of Ibrahim, on the authority of Alqamah, on the authority of Abdullah, he said: Abdullah heard of an eclipse, so he said We were the companions of Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and we considered the verses a blessing, while you considered them a threat. While we were with the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, And we did not have water, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Ask someone who has some leftover water.” Water was brought and he poured it into the vessel, then He put his palm in it and made water come out from between his fingers, then he said, “Live to the blessed purification and blessings of God Almighty,” so we drank and he said. Abdullah, we used to hear the glorification of food as it was being eaten.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْجَوَّابِ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ رُزَيْقٍ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ زُلْزِلَتْ الْأَرْضُ عَلَى عَهْدِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَأُخْبِرَ بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ إِنَّا كُنَّا أَصْحَابَ مُحَمَّدٍ نَرَى الْآيَاتِ بَرَكَاتٍ وَأَنْتُمْ تَرَوْنَهَا تَخْوِيفًا بَيْنَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ إِذْ حَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ وَلَيْسَ مَعَنَا مَاءٌ إِلَّا يَسِيرٌ فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَاءٍ فِي صَحْفَةٍ وَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ فِيهِ فَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَنْبَجِسُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ثُمَّ نَادَى حَيَّ عَلَى الْوَضُوءِ وَالْبَرَكَةُ مِنْ اللَّهِ فَأَقْبَلَ النَّاسُ فَتَوَضَّئُوا وَجَعَلْتُ لَا هَمَّ لِي إِلَّا مَا أُدْخِلُهُ بَطْنِي لِقَوْلِهِ وَالْبَرَكَةُ مِنْ اللَّهِ فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ سَالِمَ بْنَ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ فَقَالَ كَانُوا خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةٍ

Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numayr informed us, Abu Al-Jawab told us, on the authority of Ammar bin Ruzaiq, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Ibrahim, on the authority of Alqamah, on the authority of Abdullah said: The earth shook during the reign of Abdullah, so he was informed of that and said: We were the companions of Muhammad and saw the verses as blessings, and you You see it as a fear while we were with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, on a journey, when the time for prayer came and we had no water but it was easy. So the Messenger of God called God, may God bless him and grant him peace, poured water into a dish and placed his palm in it, making the water spout between his fingers. Then he called Hayy to perform ablution. And the blessing is from God, so the people came and performed ablutions, and I was left with nothing to worry about except what I put into my stomach, according to what he said, and the blessing is from God, so I spoke about it. Salim bin Abi Al-Ja’d, and he said: They were fifteen hundred.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ إِلَى جِذْعٍ فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ حَنَّ الْجِذْعُ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ فَمَسَحَهُ

Othman bin Omar informed us, Muadh bin Al-Ala informed us, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Omar, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was addressing Ja’dah, and when he took the pulpit, Ja’dah bent down until he came to it and wiped it.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا تَمِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا خَطَبَ قَامَ فَأَطَالَ الْقِيَامَ فَكَانَ يَشُقُّ عَلَيْهِ قِيَامُهُ فَأُتِيَ بِجِذْعِ نَخْلَةٍ فَحُفِرَ لَهُ وَأُقِيمَ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ قَائِمًا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا خَطَبَ فَطَالَ الْقِيَامُ عَلَيْهِ اسْتَنَدَ إِلَيْهِ فَاتَّكَأَ عَلَيْهِ فَبَصُرَ بِهِ رَجُلٌ كَانَ وَرَدَ الْمَدِينَةَ فَرَآهُ قَائِمًا إِلَى جَنْبِ ذَلِكَ الْجِذْعِ فَقَالَ لِمَنْ يَلِيهِ مِنْ النَّاسِ لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا يَحْمَدُنِي فِي شَيْءٍ يَرْفُقُ بِهِ لَصَنَعْتُ لَهُ مَجْلِسًا يَقُومُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنْ شَاءَ جَلَسَ مَا شَاءَ وَإِنْ شَاءَ قَامَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ ائْتُونِي بِهِ فَأَتَوْهُ بِهِ فَأُمِرَ أَنْ يَصْنَعَ لَهُ هَذِهِ الْمَرَاقِيَ الثَّلَاثَ أَوْ الْأَرْبَعَ هِيَ الْآنَ فِي مِنْبَرِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَوَجَدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ذَلِكَ رَاحَةً فَلَمَّا فَارَقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْجِذْعَ وَعَمَدَ إِلَى هَذِهِ الَّتِي صُنِعَتْ لَهُ جَزِعَ الْجِذْعُ فَحَنَّ كَمَا تَحِنُّ النَّاقَةُ حِينَ فَارَقَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَزَعَمَ ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ سَمِعَ حَنِينَ الْجِذْعِ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ اخْتَرْ أَنْ أَغْرِسَكَ فِي الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي كُنْتَ فِيهِ فَتَكُونَ كَمَا كُنْتَ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ أَغْرِسَكَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَتَشْرَبَ مِنْ أَنْهَارِهَا وَعُيُونِهَا فَيَحْسُنُ نَبْتُكَ وَتُثْمِرُ فَيَأْكُلَ أَوْلِيَاءُ اللَّهِ مِنْ ثَمَرَتِكَ وَنَخْلِكَ فَعَلْتُ فَزَعَمَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مِنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَهُ نَعَمْ قَدْ فَعَلْتُ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَسُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ اخْتَارَ أَنْ أَغْرِسَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

Muhammad ibn Humayd informed us, Tamim ibn Abd al-Mu’min informed us, Salih ibn Hayyan informed us, Ibn Buraydah informed me, on the authority of his father, he said, “The Prophet was When he delivered a sermon, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he stood up for a long time, and it was difficult for him to stand up, so a trunk of a palm tree was brought to him, it was dug for him, and he was led to He was standing beside him for the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Whenever the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, delivered a sermon, he would stand on it for a long time. He would lean on it and lean on it. Then a man who was returning to the city saw him and saw him standing next to that trunk, and he said to the people next to him, “If I knew that Muhammad would praise me in If he wants to be kind to him, I will have made a seat for him to stand on, and if he wants, he can sit as long as he wants, and if he wants, he can stand. This reached the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said Bring him to me, and he was ordered to make these three or four stands for him. They are now in the pulpit of Medina, and he found the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. There was relief in that, and when the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, left the trunk and went to this one that had been made for him, the trunk of the trunk, he felt longing just as he yearned. The camel when the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, left him. Ibn Buraidah claimed on the authority of his father that when the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, heard the trunk’s yearning, he returned. To him, and he placed his hand on him and said, “Choose that I plant you in the place where you were, and you will be as you were, and if you wish, I will plant you in Paradise.” So you will drink from its rivers and its springs, and your plant will improve and bear fruit, and the saints of God will eat of your fruit and your palm trees. You did so. He claimed that he He heard from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said to him, “Yes, I did it twice.” The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was asked and he said, “I chose to plant it in Paradise

Muhammad bin Kathir informed us, on the authority of Sulayman bin Kathir, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Sa’id bin Al-Musayyab, on the authority of Jabir bin Abdullah Al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, stood on a trunk before the pulpit was made. When the pulpit was made, he bowed that trunk until we heard his nostalgia. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, placed his hand on him and he calmed down.

أَخْبَرَنَا فَرْوَةُ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي كَرِبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَنَّتْ الْخَشَبَةُ حَنِينَ النَّاقَةِ الْخَلُوجِ

أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ الطُّفَيْلِ بْنِ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي إِلَى جِذْعٍ وَيَخْطُبُ إِلَيْهِ إِذْ كَانَ الْمَسْجِدُ عَرِيشًا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ أَلَا نَجْعَلُ لَكَ عَرِيشًا تَقُومُ عَلَيْهِ يَرَاكَ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَتُسْمِعُ مِنْ خُطْبَتِكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَصَنَعَ لَهُ الثَّلَاثَ دَرَجَاتٍ هُنَّ اللَّوَاتِي عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَلَمَّا صُنِعَ الْمِنْبَرُ وَوُضِعَ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ الَّذِي وَضَعَهُ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُرِيدُ الْمِنْبَرَ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَهُ خَارَ الْجِذْعُ حَتَّى تَصَدَّعَ وَانْشَقَّ فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَسَحَهُ بِيَدِهِ حَتَّى سَكَنَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى الْمِنْبَرِ قَالَ فَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَّى إِلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا هُدِمَ الْمَسْجِدُ أَخَذَ ذَلِكَ الْجِذْعَ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى بَلِيَ وَأَكَلَتْهُ الْأَرَضَةُ وَعَادَ رُفَاتًا

Zakaria bin Adi informed us, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Amr, on the authority of Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel, on the authority of Tufail bin Ubayy bin Ka’b, on the authority of his father He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was praying to Jad` and addressing him when the mosque was covered with a roof, and a man from his companions said to him: We will make for you a pergola on which you can stand, so that people will see you on Friday and hear your sermon. He said, “Yes,” so he made three steps for him, and they are the ones on The pulpit. When the pulpit was made and placed in its place in which the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, had put it. He said, When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came He, may God bless him and grant him peace, was going to the pulpit. He passed by it, but when he passed it, the trunk gave way until it cracked and split. Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, returned to it and wiped it. with his hand until he calmed down, then he returned to the pulpit and said, “When he prayed, he prayed to it.” When the mosque was demolished, Ubayy ibn Ka’b took that trunk and did not He remained with him until he was worn out and consumed by the earth and returned as remains.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْوَدَّاكِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ إِلَى لِزْقِ جِذْعٍ فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ رُومِيٌّ فَقَالَ أَصْنَعُ لَكَ مِنْبَرًا تَخْطُبُ عَلَيْهِ فَصَنَعَ لَهُ مِنْبَرًا هَذَا الَّذِي تَرَوْنَ قَالَ فَلَمَّا قَامَ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ حَنَّ الْجِذْعُ حَنِينَ النَّاقَةِ إِلَى وَلَدِهَا فَنَزَلَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَضَمَّهُ إِلَيْهِ فَسَكَنَ فَأُمِرَ بِهِ أَنْ يُحْفَرَ لَهُ وَيُدْفَنَ

Abdullah bin Saeed told us, Abu Usama told us, on the authority of Mujalid, on the authority of Abu Al-Wadak, on the authority of Abu Saeed, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was He delivered the sermon to Lazq Jadm, and a Roman man came to him and said, “Should I make you a pulpit on which you can preach?” So he made a pulpit for him. This is what you see. He said When the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, stood up to him and delivered a sermon, the she-camel’s longing for her calf, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, came down to him. So he gathered him to him and he settled down, so he ordered him to have a pit dug for him and buried.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا الصَّعْقُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ لَمَّا أَنْ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ جَعَلَ يُسْنِدُ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى خَشَبَةٍ وَيُحَدِّثُ النَّاسَ فَكَثُرُوا حَوْلَهُ فَأَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُسْمِعَهُمْ فَقَالَ ابْنُوا لِي شَيْئًا أَرْتَفِعُ عَلَيْهِ قَالُوا كَيْفَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَالَ عَرِيشٌ كَعَرِيشِ مُوسَى فَلَمَّا أَنْ بَنَوْا لَهُ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ حَنَّتْ وَاللَّهِ الْخَشَبَةُ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ هَلْ تُبْتَغَى قُلُوبُ قَوْمٍ سَمِعُوا قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد يَعْنِي هَذَا

Muslim bin Ibrahim told us, Al-Sa'q told us, he said: I heard Al-Hasan say, when the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to Medina, he made his back bent. He went to a stage and spoke to the people, and they gathered around him, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, wanted to hear them, so he said, “Build something for me that I can stand on.” They said How, O Prophet of God? He said, “A Arish like the Arish of Moses.” When they built it, Al-Hassan said, “By God, the wood has bowed.” Al-Hassan said, Glory be to God, do you want it? أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ إِلَى جِذْعٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ وَتَحَوَّلَ إِلَيْهِ حَنَّ الْجِذْعُ فَاحْتَضَنَهُ فَسَكَنَ وَقَالَ لَوْ لَمْ أَحْتَضِنْهُ لَحَنَّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ بِمِثْلِهِ

Al-Hajjaj bin Minhal told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Ammar bin Abi Ammar, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was He is addressing Ja's before he takes the pulpit. أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَنَّتْ الْخَشَبَةُ الَّتِي كَانَ يَقُومُ عِنْدَهَا فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْهَا فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهَا فَسَكَنَتْ

Abdullah bin Yazid told us, Al-Masudi told us, on the authority of Abu Hazim, on the authority of Sahl bin Saad, he said: The wood by which he was standing bowed. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, stood up to her and put his hand on her, and she calmed down.
