Authentic Hadith — HR. Bukhari no. 8 & Muslim no. 16
On the authority of Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: بُنِيَ الإِسْلَامُ عَلَى خَمْسٍ: شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَحَجِّ الْبَيْتِ، وَصَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ "Islam is built upon five: the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the prayer, giving the zakat, the pilgrimage to the House, and fasting Ramadan." Grade: shahih. Source: HR. Bukhari no. 8 & Muslim no. 16. May Allah grant us the ability to live by the meaning of this noble hadith.
