Welcome to the study of authentic hadith selected by ULYAH. Let's look at some of the following sayings of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, one by one, with an open heart to put them into practice. 1st Hadith. حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدْ God willing تَمِيمٍ وَأَحْسَنَ الثَّنَاءَ عَلَيْهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَوْ God willing God bless you وَسُجُودِهِ فَقَالَ قَدْرُ مَا يَقُولُ الرَِ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ ثَلَاثًا. Has told us [Muhammad bin Abdurrahman Ath Thufawy] from [Sa'id Al Jurairy], from [a man] from Bani Tamim -he praised him with good praise- from [his father], or [his uncle], he said; "I once prayed behind Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, then we asked him about the duration of his bowing and prostration." He answered: "As someone says subhanallahi wa bihamdihi (Glory be to Allah and all praise be to Him), three times." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 2nd hadith. God willing God bless you may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings جَارِيَةِ امْرَأَتِهَ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. فَهِيَ لَهُ وَعَلَيْهِ مِثْلُهَا لَهَا وَإِنْ كَانَ اسْتَكْرَهَهَا فَهِيَ حُرَّةٌ وَعَلَيْهِ مِثْلُهَا لَهَا. Has told us ['Affan], has informed us [Hammad bin Zaid]; has told us ['Amru bin Dinar]; he said; I heard [Al Hasan] from [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq], that a man had sexual intercourse with his wife's slave girl. The matter was then submitted to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam. He said: "If he (the slave) obeys (no coercion), then he remains the man's property with the obligation to give a dowry like his (other) wife. However, if the man forces him, then the slave is free and he is obliged to give a dowry like his wife." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 3rd Hadith. God willing عَنِ الْحَسَنْ may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God bless you may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God willing. It has been told to us ['Affan], from [Hammam] it has been told to us [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Jaun bin Qatadah] from [Salamah], that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam once stopped at a house whose front had a qirbah (leather water bag) hanging. Then the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam asked for a drink. They said; "O Messenger of Allah, indeed the qirbah is (made from the skin of) a carcass." He said: "The tanning of it (the skin) is its purification." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 4th Hadith. God willing يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God bless you God willing فَمِثْلُهَا مِنْ مَالِهِ لِسَيِّدَتِهَا. It has been told to us [Abdullah bin Bakr], it has been told to us by [Sa'id i.e. Ibn Abu 'Arubah] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq] that a man had had sexual intercourse with his wife's female slave while in war. The matter was then submitted to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam. He said: "If the man forces him, then the slave is free, and he is obliged to give his wife a dowry. However, if the slave obeys, then the slave remains his (the man) with the obligation to give his wife a dowry." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 5th Hadith. God bless you God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. وَمَعَهُ جَارِيَةٌ لِامْرَأَتِهِ فَوَقَعَ بِهَا فَذُكِرَ God bless you كَانَ اسْتَكْرَهَهَا فَهِيَ عَتِيقَةٌ وَلَهَا عَلَيْهِ مِثْلُهَا وَإِنْ كَانَتْ طَاوَعَتْهُ فَهِيَ أَمَتُهُ وَلَهَا God willing كَانَ فِي غَزْوَةٍحَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God bless you قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبِّقِ عَنْ God bless you. It has been told to us [Isma'il] from [Yunus] from [Al Hasan] from [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq] that a man was taking part in the war, while a female slave belonging to his wife was accompanying him, it turned out that the man had had sexual intercourse with his wife's female slave. The matter was then submitted to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam. He said: "If the man forces him, then he (the slave) is free and the man is obliged to give him a dowry like that. But if the slave obeys him, then he remains the property of the man with the obligation to give him a dowry like that. Occasionally [Isma'il] said; "Once there was a man who was taking part in a war..." He told us [Hasyim] from [Yunus] from [Al Hasan] from [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq] from the Prophet Shallalahu 'alaihi wasalam then mentioned the meaning of the hadith. He has told us [Muhammad bin Ja'far], he has told us [Syu'bah] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq] from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam like that. 6th Hadith. God bless you قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ جَوْنِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing حُنَيْنٍ فَدَعَا مِنْهَا بِمَاءٍ وَعِنْدَهََ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ فَقَالَ سَلُوهَا أَلَيْسَ قَدْ God willing God willing. Has told us [Muhammad bin Ja'far]; has told us [Sa'id] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Jaun bin Qatadah] from [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq] that during the Hunain war, Nabiyullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam once went to the house of a woman who had a qirbah, then the woman said; "It's made from (the skin of) a carcass." Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "Ask him whether he has been tanned?" The woman said; "Yes." After his wish was fulfilled, he said: "The skin of the sacred carcass is tanned." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 7th Hadith. Allah's blessings God willing God willing God willing love إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ فَقَالَ ذَكَاتُهَا دِبَاغُهَا. Has told us [Bahz]; has told us [Hammam]; has told us [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Jaun bin Qatadah] from [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq] that he was with the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam during the Tabuk war, then he went to the house in front of which hung a qirbah to ask for a drink, then told him that the qirbah was made from (the skin of) a carcass, then the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "Holiness is in tanned." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 8th Hadith. God willing God willing سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبِّقَ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing وَعَلَيْهِ لِسَيِّدَتِهَا مِثْلُهَا. Has told us [Abdurrazaq], has told us [Ma'mar] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Qabishah bin Huraits] from [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq] he said; "The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam once punished someone who had had sexual relations with his wife's slave, namely; if he was forced to do so, he would be free and his husband would have to pay his wife a dowry." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 9th Hadith. God bless you God willing مُعَاذِ بْنِ سَعْوَةَ الرَّاسِبِيِّ عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing مَعَ رَجُلٍ وَقَالَ إِنْ عَرَضَ لَهُمَا فَانْحَرْهُمَا وَاغْمِسْ النَّعْلَ فِي دِمَائِهِمَا ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ بِهِ God willing صَفْحَتَيْ كُلِِ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ رُفْقَتِكَ وَدَعْهَا لِمَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ. Has told us [Muhammad bin Bakr], has told us [Ibn Juraij], has told me [Abdul Karim bin Abul Mukhariq] from [Mu'adz bin Sa'wah Arrasibi] from [Sinan bin Salamah Al Hudzali], from his father [Salamah] -he was one of the companions of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam-, from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, that he once sent two sacrificial camel with a man. He said, "If possible, slaughter them both and dip their sandals in their blood. After that, hit them on both sides of the bodies of the two camels until it is known that they are both sacrificial camels." He said; "Both sides each." he said again: "Don't you and the people accompanying you eat it. Leave it for someone other than you." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 10th Hadith. God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ جَوْنِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَمَاءٍ مِنْ قِرْبَةٍ God willing دَبَغْتِهَا قَالَتْ بَلَى قَالَ دِبَاغُهَا ذَكَاتُهَا. Having told us ['Amru bin Al Haitsam] and [Abu Dawud] and [Abdushamad], the meaning is the same, they said; has informed us [Hisyam] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Jaun bin Qatadah] from [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq] that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam once asked for water from a woman's qirbah, then the woman said; "The qirbah is made from (the skin of) a carcass." So the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "Didn't you tan it?" He answered; "Yes." The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "Tanning him makes him holy." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 11th Hadith. God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. سِنَانِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ مُكْرَانَ فَقَالَ سِنَانُ بْنُ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. God willing وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَهُ رَمَضَانُ لَهُ حُمُولَةٌ يَأْوِي إِلَى شِبَعٍ فَلْيَصُمْ رَمَضَانَ حَيْثُ أَدْرَكَهُو قَالَ سِنَانٌ وُلِدْتُ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ فَبُشِّرَ بِي أَبِي God bless you عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهْ God willing. Having told us [Abdusshamad] he said; has told us [Abdussamad bin Habib Al Audzi]; [My father] told me, he said, We once fought together with [Sinan bin Salamah] and [Salamah bin Al Muhabbiq] told us that he once heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: "Whoever is in the month of Ramadan, while he has a load (of food) that can make him calm, then let him fast when he enters it." [Sinan] said; "I was born on the day of Hunain. My father was given the good news about my (birth). They said, 'Your son has been born.' then my father gave me the name Sinan." (Degree: sahih. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 12th Hadith. God willing جَدِّهِ قَالَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهْ love لِيُضْحِكَ بِهِ الْقَوْمَ وَيْلٌ لَهُ وَيْلٌ لَهُ. Having told us [Yazid], having told us [Bahz] from [his father] from [his grandfather] he said; I heard Rasullullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam say: "Woe to the person who speaks and lies so that other people laugh, woe to him, woe to him!" (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 13th Hadith. God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace of mind قَالَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ love may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ بِمِنًى عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ الْعَضْبَاءِ. Has told us [Bahz], has told us [Ikrimah bin 'Amar], has told us [Al Hirmaz bin Ziyad Al Bahili] said; 'I once saw the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam while my father was carrying me behind him on a donkey. At that time I was still small and I saw the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam on his camel Al Adlba' giving a sermon in Mina.' (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 14th Hadith. God willing God willing قَالَكَانَ أَبِي مُرْدِفِي فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing. Has told us [Abdusshamad]; has told us [Ikrimah bin 'Ammar], has told us [Al Hirmas bin Ziyad Al Bahili] he said; "My father once gave me a ride behind him, so I saw the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam on his camel Al Adlba' preaching in front of the people on the day of sacrifice in Mina." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 15th Hadith. God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing نَضْرَةَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْأَطْوَلِأَنَّ أَخَاهُ مَاتَ وَتَرْكَ ثَلَاثَ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ وَتَرَكَ عِيَالًا God bless you God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. love may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God willing فَأَعْطِهَا فَإِنَّهَا مُحِقَّةٌحَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ God willing God willing اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ. Has told us ['Affan], has told us [Hammad bin Salamah], has told us [Abdul Malik Abu Ja'far] from [Abu Nadhrah] from [Sa'id bin Al Athwal] that his brother has died leaving three hundred dirhams and family (children and wife). So I wanted to give alms to his family, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "Indeed, your brother is stuck because of his debt, so pay his debt." Then I said; "O Messenger of Allah, I have paid it off, except for two dinars which were claimed by a woman while she did not have clear evidence." He said: "Pay the woman, because she has more rights." It has been told to us ['Affan], it has been told to us [Hammad bin Salamah] from [Al Jurairi] from [Abu Nadhrah] from [a] friend of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam as in the above hadith. God bless you مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ عَنْ رَبِيعِ بْنِ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا قُلْتَ أَثَمَّ هُوَ أَوْ أَثَمَّ فُلَانٌ قَالُوا لَا. It has been told to us [Muhammad bin Ja'far], it has been told to us [Syu'bah] from [Mansur] from [Hilal bin Yasaf] from [Rabi' bin 'Amilah] from [Samurah bin Jundub], that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Do not name your son Aflah, Najih, Yasar, or Rabah. Because if you ask; 'Is there anyone with that name?,' or 'Is Fulan there? ' They will answer; 'No.' (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 17th Hadith. Has told us [Muhammad bin Ja'far] and [Rauh] both said, have told us [Syu'bah] from a sheikh from Bani Qusyair. -Rauh said; I heard [Sawadah Al Qusyairi] - he is the leader of the people, he said; "I heard [Samurah bin Jundub] preaching, he said; "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Don't let Bilal's call to prayer and this white (cloudy) color deceive you, until dawn has broken or dawn has risen." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 18th Hadith. God bless you تَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَكَانَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ God bless you God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing سَمُرَةَ قَدْ حَفِظَ. Has told us [Muhammad bin Ja'far], has told us [Sa'id] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Samurah bin Jundub], he said; "The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam paused for a moment in two places during his prayer." Imran bin Hushain said; "I had never heard of these two places from Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam. They then sent a letter to [Ubay bin Ka'ab] to ask about that. Ubay replied that Samurah had memorized them." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 19th hadith. Has told us [Muhammad bin Ja'far] and [Rauh], both of them said; has told us [Sa'id] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Samurah bin Jundub], that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "That is Asr (prayer)." [Ibn Ja'far] said; "That is when he was asked about the al-Wustha prayer." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 20th hadith. God bless you God bless you God willing God willing God bless you لِأَهْلِهَا. Has told us [Muhammad bin Ja'far], has told us [Sa'id] and [Bahz], has told us [Hammam]; has narrated to us [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Samurah], that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Al Umra is a gift for his family." In his hadith, Ibn Ja'far said; "For his family, or a legacy for his family." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 21st Hadith. God bless you قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهْ God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing امْرَأَةٍ زَوَّجَهَا وَلِيَّانْ وَمَنْ بَاعَ بَيْعًا مِنْ رَجُلَيْنِ فَهُوَ لِلْأَوَّلِ مِنْهُمَا. Has told us [Muhammad bin Ja'far], has told us [Sa'id] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Samurah] from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam -He doubted in the book Al Buyu'-, he said from ['Uqbah] or [Samurah] that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "Any woman who is married by two of her guardians, then she for the first of the two and whoever buys goods from two people, the one who has the right is the first." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 22nd Hadith. God bless you قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ عَلَى الْيَدِ مَا أَخَذَتْ حَتَّى تُؤَدِّيَهُ وَقَالَ ابْنُ بِشْرٍ حَتَّى تُؤَدِّيَ. Has told us [Muhammad bin Ja'far] and [Muhammad bin Bisyr], both of them said; has reported to us [Sa'id] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Samurah bin Jundub] from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "For the hand is responsible for what is taken until he fulfills it (returns it)." [Ibn Bisyr] said; "Until you do it." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 23rd Hadith. God bless you قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing Allah's mercy and blessings. Has told us [Bahz] and ['Affan], both of them said; has related to us [Hammam] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Samurah], he said; The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "The neighbor of the house has more right (to be offered first to buy) the house next door than others." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 24th Hadith. God bless you God willing قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهَ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَبِهَا وَنِعْمَتْ وَمَنْ اغْتَسَلَ فَذَلِكَ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. قَتَادَةُ. Has told us [Bahz] and [Abdusshamad], both of them said; has told us [Hammam] from [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Samurah] he said; Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "Whoever performs ablution, then that is good and whoever bathes (on Friday) then that is better." [Abdusshamad] said in his hadith; has told us [Qatadah]. (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 25th Hadith. Allah's blessings God bless you God bless you God willing وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى وَسَمَّاهَا لَنَا إِنَّمَا هِيَ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ. Has told us [Bahz] and ['Affan], both of them said; has told us [Aban]; has told us [Qatadah] from [Al Hasan] from [Samurah] that Nabiyallah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasalam said: "Take care of your prayers." 'Affan said; "The prayer is the wustha prayer," And he said the wustha prayer is the Asr prayer." (Degree: authentic. Source: Musnad Ahmad.) 26th Hadith. God willing God willing عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنْ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God bless you God bless you يَتَّخِذَ أَنْفًا يَعْنِي مِنْ ذَهَبٍحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍِ God willing عَرْفَجَةَ بْنْ الْكُلَابِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ مِثْلَهُ. Has told us [Abu 'Ubaidah Abdul Wahid bin Washil], has told us [Salm namely Ibn Zarir] and [Abul Ashhab] from [Abdurrahman bin Tharafah] that his grandfather, namely [Arfajah bin As'ad] that his nose was injured during the Kulab war during the Jahiliyah. Then he put on a fake nose made of silver, but it gave off a bad smell. So the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam ordered him to wear a nose made of gold." Has told us [Abdurrahman bin Mahdi] has told us [Abu Al Asyhab] has told us [Abdurrahman bin Tharfah] from [his grandfather] that his nose was injured in the Kulab war during the Jahiliyah period..." then he mentioned the hadith. [Abul Asyhab] said; that he had seen his grandfather, namely 'Arfajah. Has told us [Muhammad bin Tamim An Nahsyali] has told me [Abu Al Asyhab] from [Abdurrahman bin Tharfah bin 'Arfajah bin As'ad] from his grandfather ['Arfajah bin As'ad] that his nose was injured (cut off) on the day of Yaum Kulab in the Jahiliyah era, then he mentioned a hadith like that. Has told us [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah], has told us [Abdullah bin Mubarak] from [Ja'far bin Hayyan], has told me [Abdurrahman bin Tharafah bin 'Arfajah] that his grandfather ['Arfajah] had his nose injured (cut off) in the Yaum Kilab incident, then he mentioned the hadith. Has told us [Yahya bin Uthman namely Al Jarmii As Simsara], has told us [Isma'il bin 'Ayyasy] from [Ja'far bin Hayyan Al 'Utharidi] from [Abdurrahman bin Tharafah bin 'Arfajah] from [his father] from [his grandfather] he said; that his nose was injured in Yaum Kulab, namely the battle on water during the period of ignorance, then he mentioned this hadith, he said; "Without the pronunciation 'antana 'alayya' (giving rise to a bad smell)." They answered; "We don't have anything to ask you." his daughter who was behind the satyr said; "Ask him about the hadith of 'Arfajah bin As'ad whose nose was injured in the Kulab incident." He said: "Say, 'Qul a'udzu birabbil falaq." So I said, "A'udzu birabbil falaq." Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam read it again and then I read it with him. He then said: "Say 'Qul a'udzu birabbinnas'!, Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam read it and I also read it with him. His words: "When you pray, read these two letters." (Degree: authentic. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him fear Allah and glorify his guests. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him fear Allah and speak the truth or remain silent." Has told us [Hajjaj], has told me [Syu'bah], he said; "I heard [Qatadah] tell it from ['Alqamah bin 'Abdillah al-Muzanni] from [several] companions of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, then he mentioned a hadith like that.
