Welcome to the study of authentic hadith selected by ULYAH. Let's look at some of the following sayings of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, one by one, with an open heart to put them into practice. 1st Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ النُّفَسَاءُ تَنْتَظِرُ نَحْوًا مِنْ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا. It has been reported to us ['Amr bin 'Aun] has told us [Abu 'Awanah] from [Abu Bisyr] from [Yusuf bin Mahak] from [Ibn Abbas] may Allah be pleased with him, he said: "The women who experience postpartum, they wait forty days." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 2nd hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ قَالَ فِي النُّفَسَاءِ الَّتِي تَرَى الدَّمَ تَرَبَّصُ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي وَقَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ شَهْرَيْنِ ثُمَّ هِيَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ. It has been reported to us that [Musa bin Khalid] has told us [Mu'tamir] from [his father] that [Al Hasan] once said about women who experienced childbirth while he saw blood (coming out of their private parts): "She must wait (her holy period) for forty nights, then (she may) pray." [As Sya'bi] once said: "(The woman must wait for) two months, then (if she exceeds that limit) it means she experiences istihadhah." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 3rd Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَفْطَسُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ قَالَ الْمَرْأَةُ تَنْتَظِرُ مِنْ الْغُلَامِ ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْمًا وَمِنْ الْجَارِيَةِ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا يَعْنِي النُّفَسَاءَ قَالَ مَرْوَانُ هُوَ قَوْلُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ و قَالَ الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ هُمَا سَوَاءٌ. Has told us [Marwan bin Muhammad] has told us [Muhammad bin Syu'aib] has told us [Ibrahim bin Sulaiman Al `Afthas] he said: I once heard [Al 'Ala` bin Al Harith] from [Makhul] he said: "A woman must wait for thirty days (after giving birth) to a boy, and wait for forty days (after giving birth) to a girl child, namely women who experience postpartum". Marwan said: "That is also Sa'id bin Abdul Aziz's opinion." Al 'Auza'i once said: "Both (men and women) are the same". (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 4th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي الْمَرْأَةِ تُجْنِبُ ثُمَّ تَحِيضُ قَالَ تَغْتَسِلُ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ مِثْلَهُ. Has told us [Muhammad bin Yusuf] has told us [Sufyan] from [Mughirah] from [Ibrahim] about a woman who was junub then menstruating, he said: "The woman must bathe." Has told us [Muhammad bin Yusuf] has told us [sufyan] from [Hisyam] from [Al Hasan] with the same editorial. (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 5th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ الْحَيْضُ أَكْبَرُ. Has told us [Muhammad bin Yusuf] has told us [Sufyan] from [Al 'Ala`bin Al Musayyib] from ['Atha`] he said: "Menstruation is greater (than junub)". (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 6th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي رَجُلٍ غَشِيَ امْرَأَتَهُ فَحَاضَتْ فَقَالَ تَغْتَسِلُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ. Has reported to us [Sa'id bin 'Amir] from [Syu'bah] from [Mughirah] from [Ibrahim] About a man who had sex with his wife, then she experienced menstruation, he said: "(If) immediately bathing is more preferable to me." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 7th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ وَالنَّخَعِيِّ قَالَا لِتَغْتَسِلْ مِنْ الْجَنَابَةِ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ الْأَحْوَلِ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ. It has been reported to us [Hajjaj] has told us [Hammad] from [Hajjaj] from ['Atha`] and [An Nakha'i] Both of them said: "Let (a woman who is junub then menstruates), she should bathe because she is junub". Has reported to us [Hajjaj] from [Hammad] from ['Amir Al `Ahwal] from [Al Hasan] with a history like that. (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 8th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ قَالَ سُئِلَ عَنْهَا حَمَّادٌ فَقَالَ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ تَغْتَسِلُ. Has told us [Al Mu'alla bin `Asad] has told us [Abdul Wahid bin Ziyad] has told us [Al 'Ala` bin Al Musayyib] he said: " [Hammad] was asked about this, so he answered: " [Ibrahim] once said: '(Women who experience it) must bathe' ". (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 9th Hadith. حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ ابْنِ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ تَغْتَسِلُ. It has been reported to us [Ibrahim bin Musa] from [Ibn Fudhail] from [Muhammad bin Salim] from [As Sya'bi] he said: "(Women who experience it) must bathe". (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 10th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَكَمَ بْنَ عُتَيْبَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ يُعْجِبُهُمْ فِي الْمَرْأَةِ الْحَائِضِ أَنْ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهَا لِلصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ تُسَبِّحَ اللَّهَ وَتُكَبِّرَهُ فِي وَقْتِ الصَّلَاةِ. It has been reported to us that [Muhammad bin Yusuf] has told us [Yahya bin Ayyub] he said: "I once heard [Al Hakam bin 'Utaibah] say: 'They are very amazed at a woman who is menstruating, she performs ablution as she does for prayer, then she makes praise and reciting takbir to Him during prayer." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 11th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي قِلَابَةَ الْحَائِضُ تَتَوَضَّأُ عِنْدَ وَقْتِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ وَتَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ فَقَالَ مَا وَجَدْتُ لِهَذَا أَصْلًا. Having told us [Muhammad bin Yusuf] has told us [Sufyan] from [Sulaiman At Taimi] he said: I asked: to [Abu Qilabah]: "(What about) a woman who experiences menstruation who performs ablution at every prayer time, then she dhikr to Allah subhanallahu wa ta'ala?", he answered: "I have never found (the basis) for a problem like this". (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 12th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الصَّدَفِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمَرْأَةَ الْحَائِضَ عِنْدَ أَوَانِ الصَّلَاةِ أَنْ تَوَضَّأَ وَتَجْلِسَ بِفِنَاءِ مَسْجِدِهَا فَتَذْكُرَ اللَّهَ وَتُسَبِّحَ. Has told us [Abdullah bin Yazid] has told us [Sa'id bin Abu Ayyub] he said: Has told us [Khalid bin Yazid Ash Shadafi] from [his father] from ['Uqbah bin 'Amir Al Juhani] that he ordered women who experience menstruation when it is time for prayer to perform ablution and sit on the terrace of his mosque while making dhikr and glorifying Allah subhanallahu wa ta'ala. (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 13th Hadith. حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ فِي الْمَرْأَةِ الْحَائِضِ أَتَقْرَأُ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا طَرَفَ الْآيَةِ وَلَكِنْ تَوَضَّأُ عِنْدَ وَقْتِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ثُمَّ تَسْتَقْبِلُ الْقِبْلَةَ وَتُسَبِّحُ وَتُكَبِّرُ وَتَدْعُو اللَّهَ. Has told us [Ya'la] has told us [Abdul Malik] from ['Atha`] About a woman who experiences menstruation, whether she (can) read (the Qur'an)?, he answered: "No, except (the sentence at) the end of the verse, but she can perform ablution at every prayer time, then she faces the Qibla, makes tasbih, makes takbir and prays to Allah subhanallahu wa ta'ala." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 14th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا ضَمْرَةُ حَدَّثَنَا السَّيْبَانِيُّ وَهُوَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو مِنْ أَهْلِ الرَّمْلَةِ حَدَّثَنَا مَكْحُولٌ قَالَ تُؤْمَرُ الْحَائِضُ تَتَوَضَّأُ عِنْدَ مَوَاقِيتِ الصَّلَاةِ وَتَسْتَقْبِلُ الْقِبْلَةَ وَتَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ. Has told us [Muhammad bin Yazid] has told us [Dhamrah] has told us [As Saibani Yahya bin Abu 'Amr] from the people of Ramlah-, has told us [Makhul] he said: "A woman who experiences menstruation is ordered to perform ablution at every prayer time, then face the Qibla and make dhikr of Allah subhanallahu wa ta'ala". Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 15th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ إِذَا سَمِعَ الْحَائِضُ وَالْجُنُبُ السَّجْدَةَ يَغْتَسِلُ الْجُنُبُ وَيَسْجُدُ وَلَا تَقْضِي الْحَائِضُ لِأَنَّهَا لَا تُصَلِّي. It has been reported to us that [Muhammad bin Yusuf] has told us [Sufyan] from [Hammad] from [Ibrahim] he said: "If a menstruating woman and the junub hear (reciting the verse) sajdah, the junub should bathe and prostrate, while the menstruating woman does not need to do so, because she is not obliged to pray (at that time)." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 16th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي الْحَائِضِ تَسْمَعُ السَّجْدَةَ قَالَ لَا تَقْضِي. Has reported to us [Muhammad bin Yusuf] has told us [Sufyan] from [Mughirah] from [Ibrahim] about a menstruating woman who heard (reciting the verse) sajdah, he said: "She does not need to do (sujud)". (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 17th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهَا شَيْءٌ. Having reported to us [Sa'id bin 'Amir] and [Ja'far bin 'Aun] from [Sa'id] from [Abu Ma'syar] from [Ibrahim] he said: "(Menstruating women who hear the verse of sajdah) do not need anything." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 18th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ مُعَتِّبٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كُنَّا نَحِيضُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَا يَأْمُرُ امْرَأَةً مِنَّا بِرَدِّ الصَّلَاةِ. It has been reported to us [Ya'la] has told us ['Ubaidah bin Mu'attib] from [Ibrahim] from [Al `Aswad] from [Aisyah] raddhiallahu 'anha said: "We used to experience menstruation during the time of the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, he did not order any (women) among us to perform prayers (which were left behind during menstruation)." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 19th hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةَ أَتَقْضِي إِحْدَانَا صَلَاةَ أَيَّامِ حَيْضِهَا فَقَالَتْ أَحَرُورِيَّةٌ أَنْتِ قَدْ كَانَتْ إِحْدَانَا تَحِيضُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَا تُؤْمَرُ بِقَضَاءٍ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرِّشْكِ عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ قَالَ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ كَأَنَّ حَمَّادًا فَرِقَ حَدِيثَ أَيُّوبَ فَجَاءَ بِهَذَا. Has told us [Abu An Nu'man] has told us [Hammad] from [Ayyub] from [Abu Qilabah] from [Mu'adzah]: There was a woman who asked [Aisyah] radiallahu 'anha: "Is one of us obliged to make up for her prayers on menstruation days?" sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, he did not order him to make up his prayers." Has told us [Abu An Nu'man] has told us [Hammad] from [Yazid Ar Rasyk] from [Mu'adzah]. Abu An Nu'man said: "It seems that Hammad separated Ayyub's hadith and preferred this hadith." Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 20th hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ عَامِرٍ قَالَ إِذَا سَمِعَتْ الْحَائِضُ السَّجْدَةَ فَلَا تَسْجُدْ. It has been reported to us ['Amr bin 'Aun] from [Khalid bin Abdullah] from ['Atha` bin As Sa`ib] from ['Amir] that he said: "If a menstruating woman hears (the reading of the verse) sajdah, there is no need to prostrate." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 21st Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ قَالَ لَا تَسْجُدُ الْمَرْأَةُ الْحَائِضُ إِذَا سَمِعَتْ السَّجْدَةَ. It has been reported to us ['Amr bin 'Aun] from [Khalid bin Abdullah] from [Khalid Al Hadzdza`] from [Abu Qilabah] he said: "A woman who is menstruating does not need to prostrate when she hears (the recitation of the verse) sajdah". (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 22nd Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ لِلْحَائِضِ أَنْ تَسْجُدَ إِذَا سَمِعَتْ السَّجْدَةَ. It has been reported to us ['Amr bin 'Aun] from [Khalid] from [Al Hasan bin Ubaidullah] from [Ibrahim]: he hates a menstruating woman to prostrate when she hears (the recitation of the verse) sajdah. (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 23rd Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَتَتْ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ أَقْضِي مَا تَرَكْتُ مِنْ صَلَوَاتِي فِي الْحَيْضِ عِنْدَ الطُّهْرِ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ أَحَرُورِيَّةٌ أَنْتِ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَكَانَتْ إِحْدَانَا تَحِيضُ وَتَطْهُرُ فَلَا يَأْمُرُنَا بِالْقَضَاءِ. Has informed us ['Amr bin 'Aun] has informed us [Khalid] from [Laits] from [Abdur Rahman bin Al Qasim] from [his father] he said: "There was a woman who came to see Aisyah radiallahu 'anha, she asked: 'Do I have to make up for the prayer I missed during my menstrual period when it is holy? ', [Aisyah] radliallahu 'anha answered: 'Are you a group "Haruriyah?, we were with Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, one of us had menstruation and (then) became pure, but he did not order us to make up for it." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 24th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ كَثِيرٍ أَبِي إِسْمَعِيلَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِفَاطِمَةَ يَعْنِي بِنْتَ عَلِيٍّ أَتَقْضِينَ صَلَاةَ أَيَّامِ حَيْضِكِ قَالَتْ لَا. It has been reported to us that [Ishaq bin Isa] has related to us [the Sharik] from [Katsir bin Isma'il] he said: "I once asked [Fathimah] radliallahu 'anha-that is, her daughter Ali radliallahu 'anhu-, Do you make up for your prayers (which you do not perform) on the day of menstruation?", he answered: "No". (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 25th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ الْحَائِضُ وَالْجُنُبُ يَذْكُرَانِ اللَّهَ وَيُسَمِّيَانِ. Has told us [Muhammad bin Yusuf] has told us [Sufyan] from [Mughirah] from [Ibrahim] he said: "People who menstruate and people who are junub can both make dhikr and mention the name of Allah subhanallahu wa ta'ala". (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 26th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ بَلَغَنِي عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ أَنَّهُمَا قَالَا لَا يَقْرَأْ الْجُنُبُ وَالْحَائِضُ آيَةً تَامَّةً يَقْرَأَانِ الْحَرْفَ. It has been reported to us that [Muhammad bin Yusuf] has told us [Sufyan] he said: [News has reached me] from [Ibrahim] and [Sa'id bin Jubair], both of whom have said: "Menstruating women and junub people are not allowed to read a verse (of the Qur'an) in full, but both can read one letter." (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 27th Hadith. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْبَزَّازُ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ فِرَاسٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ الْجُنُبُ وَالْحَائِضُ لَا يَقْرَأَانِ الْقُرْآنَ. Has told us [Muhammad bin Yazid Al Bazzaz] has told us [Sharik] from [Firas] from ['Amir]: People who are junub and who menstruate are not allowed to read the Qur'an. (Degree: authentic.
