Abu Hurairah RA embraced Islam in the seventh year of the Hijriyah and spent the rest of his life accompanying the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to memorize every word of his. Because of his extraordinary closeness and strong memory, he became the friend with the largest history of hadith that has reached the Muslim community until now - becoming one of the main pillars of protecting the sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ after his death.
1Most Friends of Hadith Narrators
Abu Hurairah Ad-Dausi embraced Islam in the year Khaibar and accompanied the Prophet ﷺ day and night by sacrificing his worldly affairs to memorize hadiths. He narrated more than five thousand hadiths - the most among the companions - thus becoming one of the pillars of sunnah transmission.

2The Prophet's Prayer for Strong Memorizing
Abu Hurairah once complained that he was easy to forget, then the Prophet ﷺ ordered him to spread a cloth, pray for him, and since then he has never forgotten what he heard. He is also known for being devoted to his mother and praying for her until she converted to Islam.

3Zuhud and Death
Even though he had a lot of knowledge, Abu Hurairah lived in poverty and asceticism, often starving to gain knowledge. He died in Medina around 57 AH. His legacy is a sea of hadith about faith, worship, morals and the end of the world which has become a reference for people throughout the ages.
