Prophets Before Noah
Idris AS is known as a prophet who lived long before the Prophet Noah, who is referred to in the Koran as an honest and high-ranking figure (Surah Maryam). The Islamic scientific tradition links it with the beginnings of writing and wisdom, making it a symbol of firmness of faith combined with a love of knowledge. He is described as a servant who is patient and always grateful in an era that is far from guidance.
1Prophet Exalted in Degree
Allah calls Idris in the Qur'an a man of great righteousness (shiddiq) and a prophet, then says, "And We have raised him to a high dignity." Tafsir scholars say that Idris lived between the times of Adam and Noah, including being the ancestor of the Prophet Noah. He is known as the first person to write with a pen and observe astrology and reckoning - the gift of knowledge that became a sign of his prophethood.

2His Patience and Piety
In surah Al-Anbiya, Idris is mentioned together with Ismail and Dzulkifli: "All of them are among those who are patient, and We admit them to Our mercy. Indeed, they are among the pious." The Qur'an does not detail the story of his people; What Allah highlights in Idris is a patient person who continues to do good deeds and teach monotheism in his time.

The few details of Idris' story actually emphasize the main lesson: a person's glory in the sight of Allah is measured by honesty, patience and the knowledge he puts into practice. High degrees are not achieved with power, but with steadfastness in truth.
