Nabi Ilyas
إِلْيَاس عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام
Prophet Against Ba'al Worship
Ilyas AS was sent to the Children of Israel who at that time worshiped an idol called Ba'al. He called on them to return to monotheism with courage even though they faced strong rejection from the authorities and society. The Qur'an places him on a par with other pious prophets in Surah Ash-Shaffat as an example of steadfastness against deep-rooted polytheism.
1Against the Worship of Ba'l
Ilyas was sent to his people (the people of Ba'labak, from the Children of Israel) who worshiped an idol called Ba'l. His exclamation was immortalized in the Koran: "Why are you not devout? Is it right for you to worship Ba'l and abandon the best of creators, namely Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your former ancestors?"

2People Lied, Glorified by Allah
His people will deny it, then they will be dragged to doom - except for the sincere servants of Allah. Allah immortalized his good name in later generations: "Salamun 'ala Ilyasin - prosperity was bestowed upon Ilyas. Indeed, this is how We reward those who do good."

The measure of the success of da'wah is not the number of followers, but the completeness of the delivery and sincerity. Despite being lied to by the majority of his people, Ilyas is remembered by heaven and earth with greetings of prosperity.
