Nabi Isa

Maryam, the holy woman chosen by all women in the world, was visited by Jibril in the form of a perfect human who delivered the news: a holy child, even though she had never been touched by a man. "So it is; Allah creates what He wills. When He determines something, He only says 'be', and it becomes." Maryam isolated herself, gave birth under a date palm tree, and was ordered to fast. When his people accused him, he simply pointed to the baby — and Jesus spoke from the cradle: "Indeed I am Allah's servant; He gave me the Book and made me a prophet."

Jesus was sent to the Children of Israel confirming the Torah and bringing the Gospel. With God's permission he made birds from the ground and blew them to life, healed people blind from birth and lepers, raised the dead, and told what people kept in their homes. Every miracle in the Qur'an is tied with the phrase "bi-idznillah" - with Allah's permission - closing the door to cultism.

When he felt the disobedience of his people, Jesus cried out, "Who are my helpers (in upholding religion) Allah?" The hawari answered, "We are the helpers of Allah's religion." At their request, Allah sent down a dish from the sky as a holiday and a sign — accompanied by a stern warning to those who disbelieved afterwards. Some of the Children of Israel believed and some disbelieved, then Allah strengthened the believers.

The disbelievers made a plot to kill him, and Allah retaliated against the plot: "They did not kill him or crucify him, but he was made like unto them (the murdered people)." Allah raised Jesus to Him. The Qur'an also confirms his position: Jesus is Allah's servant and His messenger, His words were conveyed to Mary, and His spirit is not God and not God's son. "Indeed, Jesus in the sight of Allah is like Adam: He created him from clay."

The story of Jesus upholds two fortresses at once: defending Maryam's purity from accusations, and defending monotheism from cults. Muslims love Isa as Rasul Ulul Azmi and await his descent at the end of time as the Prophet ﷺ said - without worshiping him at all.

When Mary brought the baby and his people accused him viciously, he pointed at the baby. With Allah's permission, Jesus spoke in the cradle, "Indeed I am Allah's servant, He gave me the Book and made me a prophet, and made me blessed wherever I was, and ordered prayer and zakat as long as I live." This first miracle also cleared his mother's honor from accusations.

Jesus was given real miracles: forming birds from the ground and blowing them to life with Allah's permission, healing people blind from birth and lepers, bringing the dead to life, and telling what to eat and keep in the house — all "with Allah's permission." The repeated assertion of "bi idznillah" closes the door on cultism: miracles are a sign of prophecy, not divinity.

When Jesus felt the disobedience of the Children of Israel, he asked who their helper was in the way of Allah. The hawari answered, "We are the helpers of Allah, we believe in Allah and bear witness that we are Muslims." They ask for food from the sky as encouragement; Allah granted it with a stern warning for those who disbelieved afterwards. The essence of Jesus' teachings remains monotheism, "Indeed Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him; this is the straight path."

When the disbelievers conspired to kill him, Allah saved him, "Even though they did not kill him or crucify him, but he was disguised for them." Allah raised Jesus to Himself; he did not die on the cross as was thought. The Qur'an firmly covers up the confusion regarding his crucifixion and divinity, glorifying him as "the Messiah Isa son of Mary, the messenger of Allah and His word."

Jesus conveyed the good news about an apostle after him named Ahmad. In an authentic hadith, Rasulullah ﷺ reported that Jesus would return at the end of time as a just judge, breaking the cross, and upholding justice under Islamic law. It is a sign of the nearness of the end of the world.

The story of Jesus establishing monotheism among a people who tend to worship: a noble prophet, born without a father as a sign of God's power, but still a servant who worships. The lesson is that glory is not a reason to be worshipped; No matter how high a servant is, he is still a servant.
