Nabi Ishaq

The angels who were heading to Lut's land stopped by Ibrahim bringing good news: a son named Ishaq, and after Ishaq, a grandson named Ya'qub. Sarah laughed in astonishment — "How will I give birth, when I am so old and my husband is so old?" The angels answered, "Are you surprised at God's decree?"

Allah said, "And We gave him good news with Ishaq, a prophet who was one of the pious people. We bestowed blessings on him and on Ishaq." From Ishaq was born Ya'qub (Israil), and from his descendants continued the long lineage of the prophets of the Children of Israel: Yusuf, Musa, David, Sulaiman, up to Jesus.

The Qur'an calls Ibrahim, Ishaq, and Jacob as servants who had strength and sharp insight, whom Allah sanctified with high morals: always reminding people of the land of the afterlife. Ishaq continued his father's preaching of monotheism in the land of Syria until his death.

Ishaq's birth proves that Allah's grace is not limited by customary law - old age is not an obstacle to His decree. The true blessing of a family is the birth of a generation that continues monotheism, not just a large number of descendants.
