Nabi Muhammad ﷺ

Muhammad ﷺ was born in Mecca in the Year of the Elephant as an orphan; his father Abdullah died before he was born, his mother Aminah died when he was six years old, then his grandfather Abdul Muttalib, until he was raised by his uncle Abu Talib. Allah enshrines this providence: "Didn't He find you an orphan and protect you?" Since he was young he was called Al-Amin - the trusted one - and never worshiped idols.

At the age of forty, while alone worshiping in the Cave of Hira, Jibril came to embrace him: "Iqra' — read in the name of your Lord who created." He came home shaking, and Khadijah calmed him with a sentence that immortalized his character: "By Allah, Allah will not humiliate you forever; you continue to maintain relationships, support the weak, respect guests, and help in every matter of truth."

Thirteen years in Mecca, he and his friends faced ridicule, boycotts and torture - Bilal was crushed by a stone, Yasir's family was tortured until they were martyred. Offered wealth and a throne to stop, he replied that if the sun were placed in his right hand and the moon in his left hand, he would not leave this matter until Allah won him or he perished because of it. In the year of sorrow, Allah comforted him with the Isra' Mi'raj: it was carried out at night to Baitul Maqdis and then to heaven, and he was obliged to pray five times a day.

When the polytheists agreed to kill him, Allah permitted the hijrah. In Tsur Cave, when the pursuers' feet were directly above his head, he reassured Abu Bakr: "Don't be sad, indeed Allah is with us." In Medina he united the Muhajirin and Ansar, built a mosque, and laid down a charter that organized a pluralistic society - the first state founded on revelation.

At Badr, three hundred believers defeated a thousand troops with Allah's help. Trials followed — Uhud, Khandaq, Hudaibiyah which Allah called "a clear victory" — until Fathu Makkah: he entered the city that had expelled him with his head bowed in gratitude, then said to the people who had tortured him, "Go, you are all free." The idols around the Kaaba were torn down: "Truth has come and falsehood has disappeared."

On the farewell pilgrimage at Arafat, the verse came down, "Today I have perfected your religion for you, I have completed My blessings upon you, and I have approved Islam as your religion." He gave messages about blood, property and honor which are forbidden to be violated, about women's rights, and about adhering to the Book of Allah. Not long afterward he died in Medina at the age of 63 years, with the last message: "Ash-shalah, ash-shalah — keep your prayers — and the servants you have."

He is the seal of the prophets, a blessing for all the worlds, and the best example in all aspects of life - "And indeed you truly have great character." Loving him means following his sunnah: "Say, if you love Allah, follow me, surely Allah will love you."
