Son of Zakaria, Prophet Since Childhood
Yahya AS was blessed with wisdom and prophecy since he was a child, and is known to be very diligent in worship, loving towards his parents, and far from arrogance. The Qur'an gives him the honor of "salaamun 'alaihi" on the day of his birth, death, and future resurrection (Surah Maryam) โ an honor also given to his cousin, the Prophet Isa.
1Names That Never Existed
Yahya was born from the prayers of his father, Zakaria, at an old age. Allah Himself named him: "O Zakaria, We give you the good news of a boy named Yahya, whom We have never created before with his namesake." He confirmed the words of Allah (Isa), became a role model, refrained from lust, and was a prophet from a line of pious people.

2Given Wisdom as a Child
Allah commanded, "O Yahya, take the Book firmly." And We gave him wisdom while he was still a child, as well as gentleness and purity from Our side. He is very devout, devoted to his parents, and is neither arrogant nor disobedient. The scholars called him a prophet who was ascetic, lived a simple life, and died as a martyr, killed by an unjust ruler because he was steadfast in upholding God's law.
๐ QS Maryam: 12โ14
3Ibrah The story of the Prophet Yahya
Allah's greetings be upon him at three stations in life: "Peace be upon him on the day he was born, on the day he died, and on the day he was raised to life again." Yahya proves that young age is no barrier to religious maturity, and that steadfastness in the truth is more expensive than life.
๐ QS Maryam: 15
