The book of faith by Imam Muhammad bin Yusuf As-Sanusi (d. 895 H), known as As-Sanusiyyah, which emphasizes proving the faith with rational arguments (burhan). Summarizes the nature of obligatory, impossible, and jaiz for Allah and the Messenger along with their rational arguments, as well as the meaning of the sentence monotheism. Becomes an important reference for the study of Ahlussunnah kalam science in Islamic boarding schools.

Preamble & Nature of Nafsiyyah

الصِّفَةُ النَّفْسِيَّةُ

اِعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ يَجِبُ فِي حَقِّ اللهِ تَعَالَى الْوُجُودُ وَيَسْتَحِيلُ الْعَدَمُ وَيَجُوزُ أَنْ يَفْعَلَ كُلَّ مُمْكِنٍ أَوْ يَتْرُكَهُ.

Translation

Know that it is obligatory for Allah the nature of Being (Existence), it is impossible for Him 'Adam (non-existence), and it is jaiz for Him to do or not do everything that is possible.

Commentary

As-Sanusiyyah (Umm al-Barahin) is the most concise and concise treatise on the Ash'ariyyah creed. Very popular in traditional Islamic boarding schools as the first book to memorize in the faith. The author, Imam As-Sanusi (Tlemcen, Algeria), is one of the greatest theologians of the Ash'ariyyah school.
