The book “Al-Baldaniyat” by Al-Sakhawi is a modern volume that collects hadiths and narrations related to a number of countries, arranged in chapters according to the names of those countries. The book begins by mentioning the country of Jeddah, covering its virtues, news, and antiquities contained therein. Then it moves on to list the rest of the countries, such as Medina, Jerusalem, Aleppo, and others, to form a small geographical modern encyclopedia.
