كتاب نهاية الأرب في معرفة أنساب العرب : كتاب في الأنساب ألفه أبو العباس أحمد بن علي بن أحمد القلقشندي ، المتوفى سنة 821هـ، وهو باحث في معرفة القبائل العربية وأنسابها، وقد قسمه مصنفه على: مقدمة ومقصد وخاتمة. المقدمة فكانت في ذكر أمور يُحتاج إليها في علم الأنساب ومعرفة القبائل. المقصد في معرفة تفاصيل أنساب قبائل العرب وفيه فصلان: الأول في ذكر عمود النسب النبوي وما يتفرع منه من الأنساب، والثاني في ذكر تفاصيل القبائل مرتبة ترتيباَ أبجدياً، إضافة إلى ذكر ما عرف من مساكنهم في ذلك العصر . الخاتمة في ذكر أمور تتعلق بأحوال العرب ؛ من ديانات ومفاخرات وحروب ونيران وأسواق.

Translation

The Book of Nihayyat al-Arb fi Ma’rifat al-Arab Genealogies: A book on genealogies written by Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn Ali ibn Ahmad al-Qalqashandi, who died in the year 821 AH. He was a researcher in knowledge of Arab tribes and their genealogies. His work divided it into: an introduction, a purpose, and a conclusion. The introduction was to mention matters needed in genealogy and knowledge of tribes. The purpose is to know the details of the genealogies of the Arab tribes, and it contains two chapters: the first is to mention the pillar of the Prophet’s lineage and the lineages that branch out from it, and the second is to mention the details of the tribes arranged in alphabetical order, in addition to mentioning what was known of their homes in that era. The conclusion is to mention matters related to the conditions of the Arabs. Of religions, boasts, wars, fires, and markets.
