This book is a lecture by Sheikh Muhammad Al-Amin Al-Shanqeeti in which he discusses the topic of the names and attributes of God Almighty from two perspectives: transmission and reason. The author focuses on clarifying the belief of the Salaf on this subject and showing the correct path towards understanding the verses about attributes in the Qur’an. Al-Shanqeeti emphasizes the necessity of moderation in the search for attributes and warns of the three foundations upon which believers in this field must rely, which are God’s dissociation from resemblance to creatures in attributes, and belief in what God and His Messenger have described, while emphasizing the impermissibility of likening God’s attributes to the attributes of created beings or denying His attributes without legal evidence.
