الإبانة عن أصول الديانة كتاب في علم العقيدة الإسلامية، من تأليف أبي الحسن الأشعري، تكلم فيه عن الأصول العقائدية المختلف عليها كرؤية الله وكلامه واستوائه على العرش، والقدر، والمتشابه من القرآن، مع الأدلة العقلية والنقلية والرد على الفرق المخالفة في تلك المسائل وغيرها من الأصول. يذكر المحدّث والباحث اللبناني جبريل فؤاد حداد أن نسخة الإبانة المتداولة والمنسوبة اليوم إلى الإمام الأشعري هي نسخة بلا سند، مجهولة، ومزوّرة من قِبل المجسمة، وتحمل بوضوح نزعة معادية للأشاعرة وللحنفية. كما يؤكد أن النسخة الأصلية غير المحرّفة كانت في حوزة علماء أشاعرة مثل ابن عساكر، وأبي عثمان الصابوني، وغيرهم.
Translation
Explaining the Fundamentals of Religion is a book in the science of Islamic belief, written by Abu Al-Hasan Al-Ash’ari, in which he talked about the disputed doctrinal principles, such as the vision of God, His speech, His ascendance to the throne, destiny, and what is similar to the Qur’an, with rational and transmissional evidence and a response to the opposing sects on those issues and other principles. The Lebanese hadith scholar and researcher, Gabriel Fouad Haddad, states that the current version of Al-Ibanah attributed today to Imam Al-Ash’ari is an unsupported, anonymous, and forged copy by Al-Mujasimah, and clearly carries an anti-Ash’ari and anti-Hanafi tendency. He also confirms that the original, unaltered copy was in the possession of Ash’ari scholars such as Ibn Asakir, Abu Othman al-Sabouni, and others.
