About this work
Translation
This book, “Religion and Universal Sunnahs,” by Muhammad Taqi al-Din al-Hilali, is considered a book in the field of belief, as it addresses pagan Indian Sufi thought and explains how this thought is incompatible with true religion. The book begins with an introduction explaining that true religion does not contradict universal laws, because their source is the same, which is the will and rule of God. The book is used as evidence that pagan Indian Sufi thought is wrong, and shows how some Indian philosophers claimed that leaving the world and asceticism in it was the only path to self-realization and purity, which led to negative results. The book also refers to the idea of the reincarnation of souls, which considers that souls are limited and do not increase or decrease, and it shows how some Indian philosophers claimed that the reward for each of the lives a person lives is raised or lowered to different levels according to his work.
