Explaining the lies of the slanderer in what was attributed to Imam Abu Al-Hasan Al-Ash’ari is a book written by Al-Hafiz Ibn Asakir in which he defended Imam Abu Al-Hasan Al-Ash’ari after his conversion from the Mu’tazilites to the doctrines of the Sunnis and the community, after he was convinced of the corruption of the Mu’tazila’s articles, which strayed far from the logic and purposes of the Sharia, and delved into purely abstract issues that made the doctrine of monotheism lose its essence.
