هذا الكتاب "جلاء العينين في محاكمة الأحمدين" للشيخ علي بن محمد بن محمد بن علي بن الألوسي، يُعد من أهم المصادر في الدفاع عن الشيخ الإسلام تقي الدين ابن تيمية، الذي كان يُعتبر من أشهر علماء الإسلام في القرن الرابع عشر الهجري. الكتاب يُظهر تضاد بين آراء العلماء حول ابن تيمية، حيث يُظهر بعضهم غلواً في انتقاده، بينما يُظهر آخرون دفاعاً عنه وثناءً عليه. الكتاب يحتوي على ترجمات لعدد من العلماء الذين كتبوا عن ابن تيمية، مثل الحافظ الذهبي، الحافظ ابن كثير، الزملكاني، السيوطي، ابن سيد الناس، ابن الوردى، الواسطى، ابن دقيق العيد، العلامة السبكي، الحافظ ابن حجر العسقلاني، وغيرهم. الكتاب يُظهر أيضاً كيف أن ابن تيمية كان يُعتبر من أهم العلماء في عصره، و كيف أن آرائه كانت تُعتبر مثيرة للجدل.
Translation
This book, “The Exaltation of the Eyes in the Trial of the Ahmads,” by Sheikh Ali bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Ali bin Al-Alusi, is considered one of the most important sources in defending Sheikh Al-Islam Taqi Al-Din Ibn Taymiyyah, who was considered one of the most famous Islamic scholars in the fourteenth century AH. The book shows a contradiction between the opinions of scholars about Ibn Taymiyyah, as some of them show exaggeration in criticizing him, while others show his defense and praise. The book contains translations of a number of scholars who wrote about Ibn Taymiyyah, such as Al-Hafiz Al-Dhahabi, Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir, Al-Zamalakani, Al-Suyuti, Ibn Sayyid Al-Nas, Ibn Al-Wardi, Al-Wasti, Ibn Daqiq Al-Eid, Al-Allamah Al-Subki, Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani, and others. The book also shows how Ibn Taymiyyah was considered one of the most important scholars of his time, and how his views were considered controversial.
