About this work
Translation
The book “The Death of Sufism” or “The Idiot’s Attention to the Infidelity of Ibn Arabi” by the scholar Burhan al-Din al-Buqa’i deals with the subject of the Islamic faith through his criticism of some Sufi practices and beliefs that the author believes contradict the fundamentals of the religion. The book focuses on criticizing the thought of Ibn Arabi and other Sufis, considering some of their ideas contrary to Islamic law and basing this on Qur’anic verses and prophetic hadiths. The book aims to warn against the doctrinal deviations that he believes have spread among some followers of Sufism, and calls for a return to the authentic principles of Islam.
