The book deals with the ruling on amputating a thief’s hand in Islamic law, reviewing its provisions and wisdom from a jurisprudential perspective. The author focuses on the wisdom of determining punishment, presenting evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah, and reviews the views of jurists on the permissibility of dropping this punishment or replacing it with another. It also shows that the assessment of severe penalties for serious crimes is entrusted to God Almighty, to ensure the achievement of justice and deterrence without compromising on the limits specified by Sharia law.
