The book “Debt” by Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen is a jurisprudential study of the rulings on financial transactions, explaining the types of debt (selling the absent person for what is due or vice versa) and its divisions. The book begins by explaining the ruling on purchasing a commodity for a later period at a price in excess of its current price, whether for personal use or for trade, and states that this is permissible. It also discusses the ruling on taking current dirhams in exchange for something owed on a deferred basis, which is permissible peace, and discusses the methods used in people’s debt.
