كتاب "عودة الحجاب" لمحمد إسماعيل المقدم هو بحث في قضية الحجاب والسفور، يتناول تاريخ حركة تحرير المرأة في مصر ودور الشخصيات المؤثرة فيها، مثل رفاعة الطهطاوي وقاسم أمين، ويركز على الجذور الفكرية والاستعمارية التي ساهمت في نشر دعوات السفور، وذلك من منظور نقدي يهدف إلى إظهار ما يراه المؤلف من تآمر على الهوية الإسلامية.

Translation

The book “The Return of the Hijab” by Muhammad Ismail Al-Muqaddim is a study of the issue of the hijab and unveiling. It deals with the history of the women’s liberation movement in Egypt and the role of influential figures in it, such as Rifa’a al-Tahtawi and Qasim Amin. It focuses on the intellectual and colonial roots that contributed to spreading calls for unveiling, from a critical perspective that aims to show what the author sees as a conspiracy against Islamic identity.
